Hi Tammy, It is NOT FUNNY AT ALL to see that YOU removed my opinion in that Curation! That is felt as Censorship for me, sorry and I don't like Censorship at ALL!!! I suggest to YOU to delete that post and to curate it from original address or YOU keep it and YOU bring in again my opinion in the text! That is Curation, not only copy&paste! Curation is made for leaving the opinion of a curator, otherwise it would be aggregation, OK ;) Have a great day :)

The Neurochemistry of Empathy, Storytelling, and the Dramatic Arc, Animated

The Neurochemistry of Empathy, Storytelling, and the Dramatic Arc, Animated | Social innovation and education | Scoop.it

What cortisol and oxytocin have to do with a 19th-century German playwright.

This week, I’m headed to the Future of Storytelling summit, an unusual cross-disciplinary unconference exploring exactly what it says on the tin. Among the presenters is neuroeconomics pioneer Paul Zak, director of the Center for Neuroeconomic Studies and author of The Moral Molecule: The Source of Love and Prosperity. In this short film on empathy, neurochemistry, and the dramatic arc, directed and edited by my friend Kirby Ferguson and animated by Henrique Barone, Zak takes us inside his lab, where he studies how people respond to stories.

What is Empathy, and why is it important?

What is Empathy, and why is it important? | Social innovation and education | Scoop.it
“Empathy” is a word that props up quite frequently in IEET articles and comment threads, but it is also one of those words that people use quite a lot without necessarily having a very clear idea of what it means.

Starting, as I usually do these days, with wictionary, ===> “empathy” is defined as “the intellectual identification of the thoughts, feelings, or state of another person”, and alternatively as “[the ] capacity to understand another person’s point of view or the result of such understanding”. <===

My 10 Favorite Educational Mind Maps

My 10 Favorite Educational Mind Maps | Social innovation and education | Scoop.it

They may look like jumbled and messy flowcharts for the insane, but mind maps are actually extremely useful and perfect tools for brainstorming. You essentially take a flow of ideas and translate them into interconnected webs designed to help clarify your thinking (or mind, as it were).

==========================================

Gust MEES

You can use mindmaps also when you organize an event, to make sure that you don't forget anything, e.g. http://gustmeesfr.files.wordpress.com/2011/12/vdujwtjyx3uq-ri20vw-tipmindmap17-apr-09-15-171.jpg  It's a mindmap which I used in 2004 already to organize a Theater piece about learning basics of #IT-Security which you can follow here http://gustmeesfr.wordpress.com/2011/12/28/securite-pc-et-internettheatre-interactif-et-pedagogique/

Daniel Goleman: Empathy and Email

The new field of social neuroscience shows that when two people talk face-to-face, their brains form an instant connection. Not so with life online.

There's a "negativity bias" to emails. What you thought was a neutral message can be perceived as hostile by the recipient.

Daniel Goleman talks about employing empathy with your email communication.

Learn more about Dr. Goleman's latest research in his book The Brain and Emotional Intelligence: New Insights from More Than Sound www.morethansound.net.
