20 Things Happy People Never Do

20 Things Happy People Never Do | Social | Scoop.it

Our obsession with happiness is linked to our inner desire to feel connected and loved. When we're happy, we feel confident, purposeful and in harmony with our true self. However, what is often overlooked in this rush to reach a happy state is learning how to stay happy. The truth is, happiness is not just a feeling or a state of mind; being happy is actually good for you. People who are genuinely happy are healthier, kinder and have better relationships. Over the past few years, I've done extensive research for my next book. I inhaled self-help books and absorbed the science of happiness research. What it comes down to are the common habits that happy people avoid. Truly happy people don't try to get happy; they just are happy because they recognize that the magic of happiness is in the moment.......

What do you feel are the key digital literacy skills that 21st century learners need? | Social | Scoop.it

Digital literacy has become one of the major issues facing educators in this early part of the 21st century. The need to develop students and teachers digital literacies has become increasingly accepted as fact and yet most teachers' and students' understanding of what exactly constitutes a digital literacy still seems to remain quite vague. Even more vague seems to be teachers' understanding of how precisely we go about developing those literacies.

I think that it's important to go beyond mere "connection" and engage others with the intent of establishing relationships. It's the difference between meeting someone at an event, getting their card and never contacting them again and setting up a meeting immediately with long-term intention.  Not all will "stick."
