"Pinterest now boasts more than 70 million users and ranks fourth among social networks in traffic. With stats like that, it’s safe to say Pinterest is here to stay.Even so, I find would-be users have many questions about how to start a Pinterest account for their brand: “Should I create my own pin or use existing ones?” “What should I pin?” “How frequently should I pin?” “Who should I follow?”

Facebook users will soon be seeing which posts are popular and trending on the platform. Will this be a boon for both users and businesses alike?
I will always be a huge fan of the G+ "What's Hot" feature but I'm curious to see the impact of this new feature.
Facebook Announces Trending PostsIn an announcement late yesterday, Facebook revealed that they're rolling out a new product called "Trending" which will list topics that are most popular on Facebook at that time, linked to a timeline view of posts from friends and Pages on that topic. It's interesting because while Hashtags will no doubt play a role in determining which posts are included, it's clear from the images Facebook included in the announcement that hashtags will not be the only indicator. If the feature works similarly to What's Hot on Google+, this could be huge for both users and businesses alike! To learn more, please review the summary article below. And if you're struggling to reach people on Facebook, make sure that you subscribe to my blog notification circle that you can keep up as further developments in this area are discovered. Thanks!#Facebook #SocialMedia #FacebookMarketing #FacebookTrendingFeature#FacebookTrending

Google+ has launched (in beta) its own social ad called "+Post." The feature allows brands to promote their Google+ posts across the Google Display Network, in order to attract traffic back to the brand's page on Google+.
So Google+ now has a serious ad proposition? Could this be a game-changer and a real challenge to Facebook?
The selfie, a very modern phenomenon where users take pictures of themselves that they then submit to one or more social media sites, seems harmless enough. After all, what’s wrong with sharing a photo showing us off at our best?
And sharing selfies is something that many of us like to do: hundreds of millions of self-shots get sent and exchanged on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat each and every day. But what if this is all indicative of something more troubling? What if the selfie overload points to a growing narcissism in our culture?

Twitter is still the most effective social media to communicate with business professionals. It's essential to know how to dominate your little niche in this world
While some debate whether Google+ is a ghost town or not, the search giant's social network quietly passed the 1 Billion user mark. That's right: 1 Billion people have a Google+ account which is 2x Twitter's user base and only 15% less than Facebook's. Perhaps more importantly, the +1 button is pressed more than 5 million times a day and 340 million of its users are active.Scoopiteers didn’t need to wait for those metrics to be public to demand that we add Google+ to the Scoop.it’s sharing options: as our platform is a hub to discover, curate and share content to feed your online channels, it’s natural to offer as many distribution options as possible. So today, after integrating with Facebook profiles and pages, LinkedIn profiles, groups and pages, Twitter and many other social platform such as Wordpress or Tumblr, we’re excited to launch our integration with Google+ with 2 new features: Adding Google+ Company pages as a sharing option to Scoop.it Adding Google+ authorship to your Scoop.it profile Continue reading →

"For businesses, invest time in rich product pins, because the pinned image can be paired with pricing as well as where the product is available for purchase. Considering Pinterest users place an average order of $169, well above the average for Facebook users ($95) and Twitter ($70), and pins that note pricing get 36% more likes, rich pins will be a worthy investment in 2014."
Pinterest allows 5 different kinds of rich pins, including place, product, article, recipe, and movie pins. Be strategic when writing copy and provide value when pinning for a business.
For the second year in a row, Twitter was the clear-cut conversation vehicle of the online world in 2013, and brands were constantly trying to raise the bar when it comes to capturing real-time engagement.
It would be great if Facebook asked its users whether they were ready for an algorithm update before it threw it as a surplice that almost always annoys them. Recently Facebook has made two updates to the News Feed algorithm that most users don’t like. One of the changes makes community managers confused, while the other one seems harmless at first sight, but raises questionable issues about the post structure.
"The goal of this update is for the user to be able to recognize the difference between a cute cat picture hosted on an unsafe website and a great blog article that’s attracting many clicks."
Do you remember the ordiginal Facebook? How do you take to change?
