One Minneapolis-based startup is pioneering connections for a disconnected target audience: pets.
Karl Wabst's insight:

Don’t let the kooky factor put you off this idea. Pets are the first step for this company.

If you look at this startup as a company that makes terminals for cats, you miss the point.

They are already planning an expansion into geriatric care that would help aging parents remain at home and independent longer.

The users are people who need to ensure the safety and well-being of another who cannot reliably do something for themselves.

They enable users to be in two places at once to care for their pets or their parents. They sell psychological safety and enable physical safety.

Perhaps there’s a market for people who suffer from anxiety who would benefit from being able to gain comfort by interacting with their pets during the day.

Some people get special certifications for their pets so they can act as service animals. Perhaps this could be an alternative for some.

There may be a use case for parents returning to work after the birth of a child. The parents could receive reassurance by being able to connect with the baby from work.

Your turn!
