(From the article): Another advanced strategy is to train your brain to spot blogging topics all day as you go about your daily routine. Write down those ideas immediately. Have you ever noticed that some people never run out of interesting things to blog about? It’s because they’ve mastered this technique. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll never run out of post ideas.

I would like to point out that this is nothing more than the system I use. You have to find what works best for you. I’m only sharing my system so you have another point of view and another example for how to create and keep a blogging schedule.

8 Deadly Ways to Kill Employee Motivation

There are events and circumstances that make us feel happy and appreciated. But unfortunately there are also many that kill our motivation.
Amy Melendez's insight:

From the article:

5. Inadequate communication.

When communication is poor, people spend half their time second-guessing what they're doing, critical tasks are missed, nonessential jobs are duplicated, information is locked into silos, and destructive rumors thrive. A clear flow of communication benefits everyone.

Intelligence is Important but Integrity Matters More - Lolly Daskal | Leadership and Personal Development

Intelligence is Important but Integrity Matters More - Lolly Daskal | Leadership and Personal Development | Building the Digital Business | Scoop.it
Integrity is not a process or a practice, but a principle that leaders treasure when they know what matters.
Amy Melendez's insight:

From the article: Expertise is significant but humility is honorable.

Humility of heart is the first step toward both virtue and wisdom. A lack of wisdom and intelligence can be compensated with scrupulous integrity, but without humility you leave yourself no room to learn and grow.

Integrity is the most important of all the virtues.

It’s a requirement for accomplishing anything of value. When you become a leader of integrity, you leadership is clearly defined and meaningful.

Integrity is the sum of who you are. Guard it, nurture it—and lead with it.

Lead From Within: Integrity is not a process or a practice, but a principle that leaders treasure when they know what matters.

The Difference between Gamification and Game-Based Learning

The Difference between Gamification and Game-Based Learning | Building the Digital Business | Scoop.it
By Steven Isaacs Have you tried to gamify your classroom? Do you incorporate game-based learning into your curriculum? Gamification and game-based learning have become buzzwords in education yet some general confusion still exists regarding what each is and what each is not. I would love to clear up any misconceptions. Gamification Gamification is the idea of adding game elements to a nongame situation. Corporate reward programs are a good example. They reward users for certain behaviors. Starbu

4 Counterintuitive Strategies to Build Your Business

4 Counterintuitive Strategies to Build Your Business | Building the Digital Business | Scoop.it
Why sometimes you need to zag when everyone else zigs.

Via Mark E. Deschaine Ph.D.
Amy Melendez's insight:

From the article:

1. Promote your competition.

Rather than viewing companies that have overlapping business interests as your competition, you should see them as potential partners. Case in point: DigitalFlash is a terrific digital strategy and experiential marketing company, and my firm, Firebrand Group, is a digital consultancy devoted to helping brands tell their stories across all digital channels. Do we compete with DigitalFlash? Absolutely. And yet, is Firebrand stronger for relying on DigitalFlash's expert advice and discussing partnership opportunities with its leadership? Certainly. Especially if your business is new and growing, it's in your best interest to make like-minded companies your allies. Cross-post their content, share their posts and podcasts so you are on their radar, and trust that they will return the favor. By helping others you will help yourself.

Seven tips for breaking into the world of Instructional Design

Seven tips for breaking into the world of Instructional Design | Building the Digital Business | Scoop.it
What does an instructional designer do when he or she is at work?

He hobnobs with clients who may be life coaches, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, owners of production units, real estate magnates, or banking professionals.

He gets to read on and learn about a mindboggling array of subjects—self-development tactics, new software systems, fire safety, managing diseases and medical emergencies, flying an airplane, food packaging, and everything else under the sun.

He shares office with creative graphic designers and illustrators who make scenes and people come alive with their images, wordsmiths who paint pictures with their words, and maverick programmers who bring together the words and the pictures to create exciting courses.

He looks for inspiration in movies, video games, books, and toys.

There's never a dull moment at work for the instructional designer. And he gets paid to have the fun!
