SOCHI: GAMES OF SHAME
Human Rights Watch has documented human rights abuses linked to Russia’s preparations for the Games since 2009. Exploitation of construction workers, illegal detentions, forcible evictions of some homeowners and their families, harassment of journalists and civil society activists criticizing the government’s policies in Sochi, and the adoption of an anti-gay law. We have spoken out against these abuses in hopes of getting Russia to change – here's collection of some of this effort.

(Moscow) – A friend of mine who grew up in a small Soviet town realized he was gay by age 15. He did not know the word but he could no longer deny that he was sexually attracted to boys, not girls. He had no idea what it meant and felt rather lost.
