Leckie stunned by Australia's World Cup showing | Sportal Australia

Leckie stunned by Australia's World Cup showing | Sportal Australia | Socceroos | Scoop.it
Australia forward Mathew Leckie admitted on Saturday that Ange Postecoglou's side have surprised themselves in Brazil.
Krystal Malafu's insight:

This article is about how well the Socceroos performed during the World Cup in comparison to how they thought they would've went in Mathew Leckie's perspective. He explains how the Socceroos didn't expect to do so great competing against teams which are ranked in the top 15 in the world. Never would they have thought that they would be so close to winning a few games and perform so good despite the short period of time that they've had their coach.

It conveys a positive message about how much the Australian Socceroos have improved stunning many people and themselves.

This could influence people into backing the Socceroos in future games and actually believe in them.

Interview: Ange Postecoglou

Interview: Ange Postecoglou | Socceroos | Scoop.it
Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou talks to Grandstand following Australia's 1-0 loss to Croatia in the final warm-up before the World Cup.
Krystal Malafu's insight:

The main message is how the Socceroos played well on their last game before the Fifa World Cup. It was a positive message on how proud the Socceroos coach was and how they could do more to improve their attacking line whilst their defensive play was satisfying for him.

It can change a person's take of the game for example, they could've thought that the coach was unhappy with the way they played but then heard this and actually changed their mind knowing how the coach felt.

The Socceroos have many areas on which they can imporove but they they did make it to the world cup and therefore that makes them partially good at the sport. Overall, your insight and article was helpful.

Krystal Malafu's insight:

The main message of this article is about how Tim Cahill believes that Chile weren't showing gamesmanship and how the referee wasn't doing good refereeing.

It was a negative message because it was pointing out that Chile weren't playing ethically nor was the referee doing his job effectively.

The article may lead others to dislike the Chile team or even the referee especially those who follow the Socceroos.

Eventhough he talked back he will still have the same amount of status as before. This also goes for the team.
tess koparan's curator insight, July 26, 2015 2:19 AM

Tim Cahill, a player in the Australian Socceroos team, believes that Australia was being refereed unfairly in their first game of the World Cup.The message conveyed is negative as the player suggests the opposition team had bad sportsmanship and the referee was in the wrong. This article can influence and individual's attitudes and thoughts on this issue by choosing sides with the Aussie soccer player as he is very talented and popular in his field.

Ishmeen Kaur's curator insight, July 26, 2015 7:06 AM

The motive of these media sources (video and text) was to show how Socceroos player Tim Cahill opposed the referee's decisions in their first game at the FIFA World Cup 2014. Cahill believes that Australia's opponent , Chile, got an advantage due to unfair refereeing. This negative message shows Cahill to be a self obssessed player who doesn't take the referee's judgement under consideration. Tim's fans won't be pleased to hear the criticism of their favourite player as displayed in the title of the article.

Bresciano: The best dream I could have had

Bresciano: The best dream I could have had | Socceroos | Scoop.it
Keep up to date with all the latest news surrounding Brazil 2014
Krystal Malafu's insight:

This article is about Mark Bresciano and how it is likely that he won't be playing in the Socceroos final game in the Fifa World Cup due to injury. It is also about how playing in any World Cup, let alone playing for the Socceroos has only been a dream of his. He'd never thought that it would come true.

It is both a positive and a negative message. The negative part is that Mark Bresciano might not play in their last game for the World Cup. It is disappointing for him but for the best. The positive part is that he has gained many great experiences from playing in three World Cups and formed many epic friendships from it.

This article may influence many people into idolizing or looking up to this great man because not only did he dream big but he lived that dream and made an influential career out of it.

That is a good point
Nithya Manumari's curator insight, July 25, 2015 2:09 AM

The main message being conveyed in this interview is Tim Cahill's experience in the World Cup and how he got through different situations. It also conveys how much pressured he was and how many expectations people would have on him.

The interview doesn't really talk about the negative ascepts however it explains how Cahill got out during the game. He says " when I look at the tackle I made then and someone's given me a red card...what is a red....what isn't a red....that probably the big thing I've set me about that game". Therefore it shows the bad experience Cahill had During his career.

This interview shows individuals how pressured Socceroos were for the World Cup. It tells how people would have expectations on someone who plays really good.
