Shocker: Study Finds Creativity Doesn't Always Lead to Profits

Shocker: Study Finds Creativity Doesn't Always Lead to Profits | Small Business On The Web | Scoop.it
Creativity and innovation are crucial to businesses' growth, new research suggests.

The Research Shows: "the vast majority of companies operating today are not doing a good job of translating creative ideas into solutions that improve the firms' performance."

craig daniels's insight:

Creative Ideas are only as good as the team that implements them within your business. A great example is telling your business story on the Internet in an attempt to engage with current and new customers.

The reality is most small businesses fail at telling their story because these creative ideas on how to engage customers never see the light of day.

Is Collaborating Creatively With Your Customers Of Value?

Is Collaborating Creatively With Your Customers Of Value? | Small Business On The Web | Scoop.it

"A lot of the competition for us is focused on the price point. They have the slash sales. For us it's really about the relationships."

"It's not a regular brand. It's not my brand as the founder. It's not our brand as a company. It's our brand as a community."

craig daniels's insight:

Collaborating Creatively with your customers brings huge value to your small business, that value is reflected in the loyalty of repeat business.

I've never met a business owner who liked what they were doing who didn't express a deep commitment to building relationships with their customers. The trouble is most small businesses don't know how to develop community and implement creative collaboration.

Where does a business start? Start by talking with your customers and find out a little bit about them and how they use your products and services, ask them if they have questions and than answer those questions. You'll be amazed at what comes from this small step.

Ideas are Everywhere, Getting Them Implemented Is Rare.

Ideas are Everywhere, Getting Them Implemented Is Rare. | Small Business On The Web | Scoop.it
“Ideas are a dime a dozen. People who implement them are priceless.” What a great quote by Mary Kay Ash, and so true!
craig daniels's insight:

Think about the title of this post, Ideas Are Everywhere. If you talk to 100 people most will tell you they've had at least one good idea that could have either help people or made a lot of money. The sad thing is that maybe only one of them ever took the first step to implement that idea.

Implementing a new idea is a huge commitment that takes more than just courage to step it forward it takes belief in your vision of that idea. If you have an idea you need to believe in that idea if it has any chance of success, you won't take that first step if you don't believe.

Amy Rees Anderson has penned a short engaging post about how the people who implement ideas are priceless, check it out.
