Bored audiences won't remember you or care about what you sell. But touch people's hearts and they will line up overnight to buy your products. Read this article to learn how to captivate any audience.

The paragraph above is our attempt to follow the advice in this article:

Tell stories. Use images, emotions and metaphors. Choose simplicity.

And re-order how you present information: "Why" (should your audeince care), "How" (will it improve their life) and "What" (must they do to get these benefits.

And never, ever use bullet points!

This could change everything about how you present information across all your channels.

Google's New Product Listing Ads (PLAs)

Product Listing Ads are search ads that include richer product information, such as product image, price, and merchant name, without requiring additional keywords or ad text. Whenever a user enters a search query relevant to an item in your Google Merchant Center account, Google will automatically show the most relevant products along with the associated image, price and product name.

Clicks on Product Listing Ads are charged on a cost-per-click (CPC) basis, or conversion-focused cost-per-acquisition (CPA) percentage basis (select participants in the US only).

Peter Semple's insight:

PLA's are the product images, descriptions and prices that appear at the top of the Google search results.

These product images were formerally available free to merchants as long as sellers uploaded their images and content through the complicated Merchant Feed process.

PLAs are in Beta testing now for US customers only. These types of images ads are showing good results, probably because the public still thinks they're part of Google's "organic" results and are therefore more trusting of them than they would be if they're were known to be paid advertising.

At righthandplanning.com we can help you devise and execute a PLA product image campaign.

Google PLAs Proving Way More Effective Than Text Ads

Google PLAs Proving Way More Effective Than Text Ads | Small Business Marketing Tools | Scoop.it
Peter Semple's insight:

"According to Kenshoo’s findings, “eye-catching” PLAs draw about one and a half times the clickthrough rate of regular text ads, and convert 23% better, resulting in a 31% higher return on advertising spending (ROAS). "

This isn't that suprising considering PLAs put images of your product at the top of the Google search results.

Although there's still controvery about Google's shift from organic results to paid inclusion, we suspect in the end a successful business model will win the day.

Besides, marketers like us at righthandplanning.com would do all we can to manipulate our clients' products to the top of those "natural" results anyway, so paid placement at least does away with the pretense of impartiality.

Keytakeaway - Now's the time to consider buying PLAs before their success becomes more widely known and prices go up.
