EYES and How They MOVE Around A Website [infographic]

EYES and How They MOVE Around A Website [infographic] | SM | Scoop.it

Engage website visitors better by designing your site to match how people's eyes move on the page. Here are some surprising eye tracking stats to help.

Putting together a great looking website is a great start, but it is just a start.

True web design requires you to venture beyond the aesthetic and into the worlds of User Experience and Conversion Rate Optimization.

Knowing how the viewers of your site really see it can help to shine light on new and/or missed opportunities within your current design. It may also bring out the need for new elements or changes.

While there are plenty of options for improving CRO, eye tracking analysis provides some of the most useful information for optimizing your biggest digital marketing asset, your website.

A good design will catch people’s eye, but a great design will keep people on your site and get them engaged with your content. And while you shouldn’tunderestimate the power of good copy, your design is what people notice first.

We teamed up with our friends over at Single Grain to put together the infographic below in hopes that it will help everyone get a better, basic understanding of what eye tracking is and what it can do.

39 Web Apps and Tools We Use to Create Websites

39 Web Apps and Tools We Use to Create Websites | SM | Scoop.it

Probably not unlike you, we use a cadre of different tools to help us create websites and products we’re proud of. Every year it seems that this list morphs, evolves, shrinks and grows. So we thought, ‘Hey, it might be valuable to some people to get a look at how we build things and the tools that we use to get the job done.’ We looked at every step of our development process and highlighted our favorite technologies every step of the way. These divisions aren’t meant as hard and fast rules; but rather groupings that can help you if you’re looking for a tool to find efficiencies, process improvements or work product for a particular phase.

Direct From Google: How To Build A Quality Website In 2012

Direct From Google: How To Build A Quality Website In 2012 | SM | Scoop.it

I hear a lot of webmasters complain day in and day out about all the changes that Google constantly makes to its algorithm and how they affect our search engine placement.

Let me break it to you: it’s not all about what Google has done and will do to update its algorithm.

It’s about what you SHOULD BE doing.

I am sure we all can agree that Google’s ultimate goal is to help people find the most relevant and highest quality sites in Google’s search results (whether they are any good at it is not the question). They are not putting out all these updates just to mess with you...

Thanks, I'm glad, that you like it! The RSS plugin works also on wordpress.com? I have tried to install some plugins several months ago but without success... ;-( Yes, I posted it manually to test Billboards.

No worries Martin perhaps I can eventually set us an RSS myself to import your feed, but for now you can always post occasionally when you like curation is very quick, and also feel free to submit any articles you write as a guest post.

OK, thank you Tom. I will do so during the next few weeks and then we can decide how we will proceed. A great day.
