A Day In The Life Of The Internet – infographic

A Day In The Life Of The Internet – infographic | SM | Scoop.it

'There are close to two and-a-half billion people online around the world – this number has grown 566 percent since the year 2000 – and 70 percent of them use the internet every day. As you might imagine, with that kind of presence, which amounts to more than a third of the global population, quite a lot happens over the course of each 24 hours.

The Internet never sleeps.  Is it possible to even fathom the idea of any given moment without someone in the world being connected to the Internet for one reason or another?  It wasn’t that long ago that the Internet wasn’t even a thing, but anymore it’s something that we can’t do without.  ztake a look at “A Day in the Life of the Internet”...

Is Your Business Monitoring What Matters On Social Media? [INFOGRAPHIC]

Is Your Business Monitoring What Matters On Social Media? [INFOGRAPHIC] | SM | Scoop.it

A recent study revealed that almost half of companies are not monitoring their online social media communities.

More than one-third said that they only measure Likes, comments and interactions on Facebook, with fewer than one in four actively measuring the ROI of their social media campaigns.

Social media affects your bottom line; brands that are proactively using these tools see numerous benefits. And for those that aren’t, the absence of social media can also impact their bottom lines, albeit in a very different way.

This infographic takes a closer look at why the shift to in-depth social media monitoring is critical for the modern business.

Irvin There is a trick. Convert your Social Media into some currency you are more familiar with. Divide followers by your sales or profits or traffic and you create a ratio between a leading and following indicators. Sales is following, traffic is leading. I just put a riff about this on Martin W. Smith on G+ too.

Traditional CRM vs Social CRM [Infographic]

Traditional CRM vs Social CRM [Infographic] | SM | Scoop.it

What’s the difference between traditional CRM and social CRM? This is often the first question in the long and tricky process of “socialization” that many large organisations are currently experiencing.

Having listened to experts from American Airlines, IBM, VistaPrint, Peugeot, Everything Everywhere, British Gas, Expedia, Spotify and many more brands explaining their approaches to social CRM at recent Our Social Times conferences – I think we’ve got a pretty clear vision of how organisations should approach social customer engagement and the management, tools and processes they need to set in place around it.

With this in mind, we thought we’d publish an infographic to set out the key points of differentiation between traditional and social CRM. We hope it’s useful.

SooJin Kim's curator insight, May 5, 6:40 AM

In today’s market, social media has become an essential factor of building a business strategy. It is very important that we approach and engage customers through social sites. In the beginning of this article, it shows that a successful social media strategy depends on establishing a sound business goal. Goals must be defined clearly to utilize the appropriate social media in achieving the business goal. After the goals are set, it is also important to define the metrics and tactics. This is because these will measure whether the social media efforts are creating consideration and conversions with the target audience. Through this process, companies can evaluate and measure success and failures, and prepare for a better business strategy to succeed in social media.

kevin bang's comment, May 9, 3:19 AM
I agree with your insight Soojin. Firms need to take social sites like Facebook or Twitter into account as many of their potential customers are most likely to use either one of them. It is hard to get people to engage with your product in any other way nowadays. Utilizing such approach is a good way of getting people to know what you're selling.

Social media has had a huge impact on every industry and travel is not excluded. The role of social media now plays a key part in the consumers travel experience; from how they research and book their holiday, on-going engagement while they're travelling to post review.

The Travel and Tourism Industry depends heavily on word-of-mouth and the spread of opinions-social networks provide the perfect platform to do this.

Social networking is one of the most powerful forces driving Travel Planning today (PhocusWright), failure to adopt could be fatal.

10 Tips To Build A Responsive Website [Infographic]

10 Tips To Build A Responsive Website [Infographic] | SM | Scoop.it

Want your website to look great on smartphones, tablets, PCs and even TVs? Learn how to go fully responsive.

The Web and the mobile browsers remain one of the top ways that users interact with websites and if they have trouble on their smartphone, there is a good chance they are not coming back.

That’s where responsive design can help.

Responsive design is a concept where you build your website once and then format it so it can adapt to any screen size that accesses it. Designers use HTML5 and CSS to build the sites and set parameters so the content will resize itself whether the user is in vertical or horizontal viewing mode, on a tablet, desktop or smartphone or even a screen as large as a television...

How to Maximize the Reach of Your Posts on Social Networks

How to Maximize the Reach of Your Posts on Social Networks | SM | Scoop.it

This article and infographic was posted by Ted Nguyen for his blog.

Intro:

One of the most pressing questions whether you're new to social media or a social media maven is: What's the best way to post information or share content to optimize your reach

Compendium, a content marketing firm conducted a study of more than 200 companies to determine how social media professionals may optimize their engagement with both business-to-business-to-consumer conversations.

What they found is consistent with what Ted Nguyen has experienced and he has demonstrated that he clearly knows what he's doing

Here are some highlights:

"My experience in sharing more than 21,000 tweets and Facebook posts to my more than 82,000 Twitter followers and Facebook friends is consistent with the study’s findings"

.

**I recommend the hours between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Pacific Time) or 1 to 4 p.m. (Eastern Time) are the best times for Twitter and Facebook to optimize social engagement engagement.

**I find that tweets shared earlier in the week do better than those sent later in the week. I also have discovered that Facebook posts do best Wednesday early afternoon.

**if you look at Ted's social shares, they run around the clock. he tries his best to engage with people in real time or near real time.

Do Social Marketers Really Know What Social Consumers Want? | SM | Scoop.it

This article is from Brian Solis , and in collboration with Barnickel Design, they have created this infograph that clearly shows that there is a perception gap

what customers want and what executives think they want.based on research from Pivot referring "The Perception Gap"

Jan Gordon: My commentary

Hopefully this article and findings will help to provide some clarity so marketers can begin to engage with their customers, in a way that is meaningful to them. Word of mouth spreads like wildfire and you'll want to make sure your business is listening, engaging and responding to their needs before someone else does.

Here are some highlights:

** 76% of marketers feel they know what their customers want yet only 34% have asked customers

**59% of social customers wish to engge businesses for buying insights and customer service respectively, on the contrary only 37% of marketers believe that these services re in demand by their customers

**Take a look at Actual Consumer usage VS marketers' perceptions of consumer usage on the infograph, there is definitely a gap in perception here

 mobile social apps

**15% of consumers use them on Linkedin, marketers think it's more like 36. 7%

**twitter 35% useage - marketers perceive this to be 82%

 Daily deal  & coupon sites

**Facebook usage is 35%

**Marketers perceive this to be 56%

Still Think Digital Advertising Is A Fad? #Infographic | SM | Scoop.it
Digital marketing isn't a fad - it's the future. And although it may be a notoriously difficult task to project the future; the most telling variable is what's happening in the present.

Look around you and you'll notice that the world is connected, communicating and constantly clicking.

There's no reason to believe that the demographic cohort that will follow Generation Y, will be any different. In fact, the next generation will be the first that cannot conceive a world that isn't defined and enabled by the Internet, mobile devices and online social networking. Still not convinced?
