Though some forward-thinking businesses are already using Instagram, chances are you aren't yet, and neither are your competitors. With its universal appeal, however, Instagram is not a medium marketers should ignore. And you'd better move quickly if you want to make an impact.

This excellent post says what we should know about Instagram and its use.

I wonder, too, if not everyone (who has an Instagram account) should read this post, because I think everyone can learn something interesting.

Let me know what is your opinion.

How to Properly Use Instagram and Pinterest For Your Company

How to Properly Use Instagram and Pinterest For Your Company | SM | Scoop.it

Instagram and Pinterest.

This article will most likely answer your questions and help you make better use of these two 'new' to the market social networks.

What’s Instagram?

Basically:  it allows you to take photos with your smartphone, apply filters and share them on Twitter, FB, Foursquare and other networks. In fact it does nothing more than you could do with other apps – so again, its power is translated by the number of registered users.

What's the advantage?

Big traffic & some big companies use Instagram to run contests of submitted consumer images, such as General Electric. The results of the #GEInspiredMe campaign were incredible compared to the prize.

What about you?

Decide on what you want to do. By just starting and posting random pictures of random things won’t make you successful. You need to know from the beginning what it is you want to do and ONLY do that thing. Have a plan.

What’s Pinterest?

The basic idea is that you have a digital bulletin board and post everything you find interesting there.

What's the advantage?

Pinterest is one of the fastest growing social services in the world and can be considered a mix between Facebook and Twitter, which allows you to have lots of followers to whom you can share your interests. Although not as effective as Instagram, Pinterest has some advantages of its own.

What about you?

You need to prove your followers and readers you are an important and credible source of information. It takes months for even the biggest companies in the world to reach a high number of followers –  On Pinterest you can get recognized as a profile that posts valuable pins. If you own such a profile, it will be easier to move the relationship on another media and make the best out of it.
