"In the 50 years since NASA unveiled the Spacecraft Assembly Facility at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, it has been used to build missions to the moon, Venus and Mars. More recently, it was home to the biggest rover ever constructed.

Called Curiosity, the rover (pictured) will be flung towards Mars at the end of this year in a $2.5 billion mission."
