Increasingly, it is taking place collaboratively, with the use of technology, needing workers to draw on varied information landscape, so the multimodal workplace really needs information literacy. At an Apple event last Thursday, the Spring Lake Park (MN) school superintendent stated that part of the success of his district's 1:1 initiative was replacing the school librarians with technology integration specialists. I didn't see too many eyebrows go up or hear any audible gasps when he said it. But anymore, I don't really expect such reactions.

This article is interesting and should be top of mind for any training organisation that wants to employ social media in the delivery of it's training programs.

I have been working with the use of technology in the delivery and management of education and training programs since the late 80's and am constantly amazed by my 7 year old grandson as he goes about do things like logging onto the Leggo website to access a plan so as he can build a new "something" in Leggo etc.

5 Creative Uses Of PowerPoint Presentations You Haven’t Explored Yet

5 Creative Uses Of PowerPoint Presentations You Haven’t Explored Yet | Skolbiblioteket och lärande | Scoop.it

Death by PowerPoint is a popular term. It’s unfair that PowerPoint gets the stick as there are more than a few presentation tools around. As anyone who has taken the pains to make a memorable PowerPoint presentation will tell you – the secret of the steak is in the sizzle. The sizzle also comes and stops at creativity. If you have creativity by your side, you can use PowerPoint as your canvas.

5 Creative Uses Of PowerPoint Presentations

Karen Ford's curator insight, November 4, 2013 12:53 PM

I think "death by PowerPoint" is used so often because so many users have not "taken the pains to make a memorable..." presentation and the concept of creativity might not have even been considered. Not totally sure what the answer is, but I do believe that if more individuals could have their eyes opened to the potential that PowerPoint has, we might be able to get passed the "death" issue. That means we have to get the great ideas to the teachers and  their students... not just telling them, but perhaps showing them...
