Scalable content generation strategy: The online marketer's formula for success

Guest author Lyena Solomon shares her formula for creating a successful scalable content generation strategy, from planning through measurement.

Excellent post by Lyena Solomon

Final Thoughts

Remember the formula to a scalable content generation strategy?

Fewer resources generating more high quality content make a scalable strategy.  Good processes will ensure that few resources are used. They will also streamline the very process of content generation.

As a result, you will receive large quantities of different types of content. Applying audience knowledge to your company message will solidify the quality.

Youth are sharing more personal information on their profiles than in the past. They choose private settings for Facebook, but share with large networks of friends.

Key findings include:

Teens are sharing more information about themselves on their social media profiles than they did when we last surveyed in 2006:

- 91% post a photo of themselves, up from 79% in 2006.

- 71% post their school name, up from 49%.

- 71% post the city or town where they live, up from 61%.

- 53% post their email address, up from 29%.

- 20% post their cell phone number, up from 2%.

The art of the scroll reflects design practices that capitalize upon human-computer interaction opportunities. Infinitely scolling, without purpose, is annoying. The websites highlighted in the article leverage purpose with function to achieve the desired outcome: read this!

The bottom line of any successful digital design mentality is to draw visitors in and make them want to stay until the message has been received.

GoogleLitTrips Reading List's curator insight, Today, 12:25 PM

Don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of Mad Men.

I've commented before on the novel-like quality of several modern television series where an ongoing story allows writers to go deep into the psyches and themes over the course of a season.

From Downton Abbey to Boardwalk Empire, to the Sopranos and Mad Men, it's pretty hard to ignore some of the most universal truths captured in the greatest literature.

We DVR the show, primarily so we can speed through the commercials, but also so we can do a quick pause when the shot of some character reading some book flashes on the screen.

Just looking at the image above, I can't help but wonder if reading The Inferno is going to do Don Draper any good. I hope so since I spent an entire teaching career believing literary reading was one of the great paths leading to a life well lived.

Does it matter that not all students who go to libraries read the books? I wonder if we have statistics about those who do and those who don't? I would also like to hear about those students who go to the library only for the wifi and accidentally find a book they didn't even k ow they wanted......
