Member of the Board's insight:

This is awesome! The skate scene in Canada is growing like crazy.  Many of the "boomers" of skateboarding (those that picked it up in the most recent peak of skateboarding popularity in 2003-2005) are in college now an this gives students a place to shred thats right on campus. Now instead of ditching the library to go skate, you can do both! This is also beneficial to the city because it will give skateboarders a place to assimilate rather than the busy streets of Vancouver.

This will be really interesting to see how the change impacts to model that Skateboarder Magazine has been accustomed to. The free aspect is the biggest plus from the consumer side. This means I will choose to view this source rather than buy paid magazines. Also the online version is more connected to social media and other means of generating business such as through links and advertisements. This may put Skateboarder Magazine on the map in the top skateboard-related websites alongside the Berrics and Transworld Skateboarding.

Booooo. Skateboarders have just as much of a right to sidewalks as bicycles do. The only relevant aspect is the competency and awareness of the user. If a skateboarder is acting recklessly and endangering pedestrians, then by all means, ticket him.
