For the past couple of days I have experienced a strange error whenever I tried to play videos in an application on Windows 8. I always received the “The video failed to play” error when I tried to do so regardless of the video that I tried to play. I first thought this was due to country restrictions that app developers or services may have added to their applications to keep users from specific countries from playing the videos. Turns out, this was not the case.
I’m experiencing quite a few issues on the system running Windows 8 which I find puzzling to say the least. I fixed the video playback issues recently on the system and discovered during that time that all libraries of the system were not working anymore. Libraries are virtual folders that list files from one or multiple folders of the system, and while I’m not using them all of the time, I did use them occasionally. Whenever I clicked on a library I would just get the error message that the resource was no longer available.

You probably know that you can create screenshots in any version of Windows by tapping on the print key, opening an image editor, pasting the contents of the Clipboard in it, and saving the screenshot to the system. Windows 7 and newer versions of the operating system make available the Snipping Tool, a basic program that you can use to take screenshots on the system.
Installing multiple versions of Windows on a single PC may be useful for a number of purposes. From taking an operating system for an extended test ride to software testing or running legacy applications on a system that do not run on newer versions of Windows.
