Nat Sones's curator insight, June 12, 11:03 AM

By designing the story around the steps of action - wherever they lead, whatever they drill into, forward, back, up and down, emotional, sad, funny, shocking or slow-burn - game designers are beginning to mirror the way life works: in a series of unexpecteds and twists that can't be modelled or controlled in a linear form. Then, they get really interesting, by making us all part of that story. Perhaps the reason games are so powerful is that they, more than anything else, increasingly mirror not only reality but our consciousness and need for receding answers within answers.
