The Top 10 Arguments Against Gay Marriage: All Receive Failing Grades! | Should gay marriage be legal in Australia? | Scoop.it
There is no logical or reasonable basis for denying same-sex couples access to secular marriage laws. Opposing the inevitable (marriage equality) is a waste of time, money and energy.

I found this scoop interesting as it has 10 arguments 'against' gay marriage with a corrected 'for' explanation underneath. Eg. 'It will lead to marriage involving animals, siblings, children or groups of people'... underneath this statement there is an explanation why this is incorrect to someone who is 'for' the topic.

This article is extremely large and open as is gay marriage protesting in Paris. 150,000 people in Paris roamed the streets with pink and blue (anti-gay colours) banners. Others decided to throw beer bottles, smoke flares and metal barriers to express the hate they felt about France's new gay marriage law.

I scooped this article via Kristy Tyquin because i believe everything that is said in the article is true. It explains that everyone is the same, all our gay friends and family members still do the same daily activities as they would if they weren't gay. They pay the same amount of bills, taxes etc and they aren't effecting anyone around us so it's time to allow gay marriage in Australia. Marriage brings joy and we should not deny a person love. It could be that gay married couples can look after a child at the same standard as married couples, but gay couples are not given the chance to prove so.
Jay Taylor's comment, May 28, 2013 12:56 AM
I found that 'It's time to allow gay marriage in Australia' was an important article as it stated that our country needs to allow gay marriage because recently other countries have been. For example New Zealand has recently legalised gay marriage and it should be legalised in Australia being a neighbouring country.
Jesse Krasic's curator insight, May 30, 2013 6:43 AM

it is raising awareness for same sex marriage, and that is time for australia to allow same sex marriage, which is being allowed in most other countries now.

I chose this source as I have heard this song on the radio before and think it has a really good message and moral. This article is 'for' legalising gay marriage and Macklemore was extremely smart making a song that could spread the word around the world.

I scooped this article as it is a great example of those around the world who aren't 'for' gay marriage and are in fact 'against' gay marriage. I don't agree with people who are against gay marriage and same love but if it is what they believe in then that's their choice. I do think it is too extreme though that someone has chosen to kill themselves over a law legalising same-sex marriage.

US president Barack Obama, has come out and is supporting same sex marriage, it is people like Barack Obama who will help it become legalised in Australia.

Jay Taylor's comment, May 31, 2013 2:38 AM
This is an extreme but inspirational article as the US President Barack Obama has come to the conclusion that he wants to in force the law of legalising same sex attracted marriage in the USA. In the article it is expressed that Obama feels strongly about legalising the law.

Also.. the article has arguments why gay marriage should not be in forced with proper comments underneath stating why gay marriage should be in forced.

I chose to scoop this article as I found it interesting how Adrian Peterson is against gay marriage.. even though I don't agree with his opinion. In the article Adrian said he has family members who he loves and respects that are gay but on the topic 'gay marriage' he doesn't agree. I thought this was an exceptional article even though Adrian is against the statement as it provides information to me that I can include in my assessment.

I thought that it was appropriate to scoop this article onto my page as it has information about the UK moving closer to legalising gay marriage. This shows us that different countries are gradually moving closer to allowing marriage between same sex couples. Personally, I think it is about time we start moving closer to accepting this as their has been debate for years... we are now in 2013!
