Some useful suggestions and links to more materials.

Danielarv's curator insight, September 16, 4:06 PM
This article provides 9 techniques which can help improve knowledge retention in eLearning course. The first technique is doing an audience research in which you know about learner preferences, goals, and preexisting knowledge. Subsequently, you need to incorporate optional self-assessments in order that online learners check their own progress. Next, you can provide to your learners a microlearning online library gathers all of your bite-size eLearning in one place so that online learners can get in, get out, and get back to business. Additionally, you can provide to learners, visual summaries such as graphics, mind maps and infographics due to the fact that the human brain remembers images more effectively than text. Furthermore, the use of games in eLearning course can significantly improve knowledge retention. Also, another technique is the spaced repetition which improves knowledge assimilation by preventing cognitive overload. One of the most important techniques is the creation of mobile learning content in which online learners will actively engage with the eLearning content. At the same time, learner-generated eLearning content is an important technique which gives online learners the chance to refresh their memory and actively recall the information. Finally, the use of online forums to facilitate the online collaboration process allows that learners improve long-term retention. These knowledge retention techniques allow that online learners achieve their learning goals.
Darlyn Nicole Ortega Aroca's curator insight, September 17, 4:57 PM
