Content Curation In the Content Marketing Mix In 2014 | SeymourResults Social Media | Scoop.it

Excerpt from the last article published by Heidi Cohen on her blog:
"Content marketing in 2014 requires a content curation component and related strategy.

According to Google’s Zero Moment of Truth (ZMOT), buyers check an average of 10.4 sources when they research a purchase. This translates to providing lots of information targeted at answering their specific purchase related questions.
The way to meet this need effectively is to add content curation into the content marketing mix.

Content curation in the content marketing mix
To create an effective content offering, marketers use a mix of content strategies according to 2014 research by Curata.

65% of content is created.25% of content is curated.10% of content is syndicated.

Curated content distributed

Over 80% share on social media.

Actionable Content Marketing Tip: Share content created by your customers such as photographs of your product and reviews.

Over 60% share on blogs.

Actionable Content Marketing Tip: Develop blog posts based on curated articles and opinions such as round up posts.

Over 50% share via email newsletters.

Actionable Content Marketing Tip: Make sure you highlight content you created that’s appeared on other platforms such as guest blog posts.

Curation timing
If content curation is an integral part of your social media strategy, it’s important to be present and share regularly across social media platforms. This is particularly important for social signals that influence search results.

The 6 Most Innovative Companies in Travel

The 6 Most Innovative Companies in Travel | SeymourResults Social Media | Scoop.it
What’s innovation? According to Fast Company, which just came out with its annual list of World’s Most Innovative Companies in 2014, “the belief that a product or service can radically remake an industry, change consumer habits, challenge economic assumptions.” Translated, it means companies that can make you believe that there is a whole new way of doing things. In general, in lists of most innovative or valuable companies list by other entities, few travel brands ever make it. So we’re happy to see travel getting its rightful place in big recognitions like this one.

With the new age of kids coming up social media is going to be a huge aspect companies are going to to need to take a handle. No social media presences is pretty much death of a company. People enjoy being able to read the next persons view on a company, so I think social media presence is going to be a huge must if companies want to survive. As well as SEO .. that is the foundation but social media a must !

Time-Saving Tips for Social Media Marketing | Social Media Today

Time-Saving Tips for Social Media Marketing | Social Media Today | SeymourResults Social Media | Scoop.it

If you’re new to social media marketing, or if you aren't seeing much return on your investment, try my top tips for time-saving on social media engagement:

Use common sense.

There is a temptation to try to be everywhere, on all social media platforms, spreading the word. Why not try using common sense instead, and create a stronger online presence on key platforms, where you know your target clients or customers are hanging out? Engage with solid social media strategy before jumping on any social platform for the sake of just being there.

Use technology.

My personal preference for saving time and pre-scheduling social media content is via HootSuite. It’s a simple, intuitive, and results-focused content management platform, which also delivers brilliant analytics.

Use analytics.

Any marketing activity needs to monitor and measure itself, to see how effective it really is over a period of time. Social media marketing is exactly the same. Use analytics, via Google, Facebook Insights, Social Flow and HootSuite.

Use the clock.

Thanks to Hootsuite, and rigorous time-keeping, I ensure that my social media marketing (outbound content) takes no longer than 30 minutes per day to deliver, with 15 minutes for monitoring, and a further 15 minutes to engage and assist new prospects online.

Use your blog.

An effective blog is also an excellent tool for giving structure, substance and social media content across the whole mix of platforms you’re engaging on.

Oh LinkedIn. You’re so clever.

Face it. Humans love to talk about themselves, particularly on social media. For the first time in history, social media offers us a way to let our friends, family, and the rest of the world know about our accomplishments. We might not be winning Super Bowl rings or Oscars, but we are generating other accomplishments and we want our peeps to hear about it. LinkedIn knows this and used it to their advantage last week.

Social CEOs Drive Company Visibility | eMarketer

Social CEOs Drive Company Visibility | eMarketer | SeymourResults Social Media | Scoop.it

As social media tears down the walls between brands and consumers—and puts a premium on visibility and engagement—companies are finding that getting their CEOs out in front of online channels is becoming a more essential part of a brand’s business strategy.

When public relations firm Weber Shandwick looked at the online activity of CEOs from 50 of the world’s largest companies in 2010, only 36% were considered “social”—meaning they engaged on a company website, appeared in a video on the company YouTube channel or had a public and verifiable social network profile or blog. In 2012, when Weber Shandwick studied the same brands, nearly double that percentage were deemed a “social CEO,” at 66%....
