Advertising watchdog dismisses complaints against Ella Baché's naked models - MuMbrella | Sex Marketing | Scoop.it

The Advertising Standards Board has dismissed complaints from the public against an Ella Baché ad depicting three smiling naked models.

The decision vindicates advice from the Outdoor Media Association which said that the smiling version of the campaign would be acceptable to the ASB but warned that a version with more serious expressions could be seen as overly-sexualised.

As a result of the OMA advice, outdoor media owners told Ella Baché they could not run the serious faced version. The beauty brand got around this by featuring it in a light box installation around Circular Quay in Sydney in the run up to The Fleet Review.

Svedka's sexually confusing robot "spokeswoman" — famous for ridiculous tag  lines like "make  your next trophy wife 100% titanium" — is losing  her starring role as the vodka company's marketing mascot.
Although Ad Age reports she'll still be seen in the occasional social media  campaign and marketing event, that sounds like the beginning of the phase-out  process.

There’s nothing more offensive than the female anatomy, amirite? No seriously, apparently there isn’t, as Carefree has taken the title for the most complained about ad of 2012. Their controversial campaign which used the word “vagina” for the very first time in Australian advertising history successfully got knickers all over the country in a knot (ha!), clocking up 149 official complaints since first airing.
