Psychometric Exploration of the Sexual Addiction Screening Test in Veterans

Psychometric Exploration of the Sexual Addiction Screening Test in Veterans | Sex Addiction | Scoop.it

Using two groups of veterans from an addictions treatment program (N = 313, N = 316), this research explored the psychometric properties of the Sexual Addiction Screening Test (SAST) and explored the feasibility of reducing the length of the SAST. Results suggested that the SAST measured a single construct with excellent reliability and acceptable convergent and divergent validity. Examination of the shortened SAST provided some initial support for a six-item SAST version. Finally, a wide-ranging pattern of significant correlations between personality disorders and sexual addiction emerged.
