Skills Converged > Illustration Exercise: Collective Masterpiece

"Use this exercise to get a group of people work on a common illustration exercise. This can be used as an icebreaker to make the group feel more comfortable with each other and also assess the competency of each person in drawing or painting. The group’s work leads to a final piece that everyone has equally contributed to which can then be kept to represent the class for future sessions or even to show off to external visitors. This exercise scales up quite easily for a large group as well, so it is ideal if you have a large audience and want to engage them in an illustration activity."

Fostering Team Creativity

Fostering Team Creativity | Serious Play | Scoop.it

The fast changing business environment is forcing organizations to continuously evolve and innovate. Cutting costs and lean management are no longer the solution to stay ahead of competition. Something different and fresh is the need of the hour – Fostering Team Creativity. The aim of this article is to provide practical insights into the much desired but lesser known topic of creativity.

Via Silvia Toffolon
Ariana Amorim's insight:

In order to succeed Organizations have to encourage team creativity (rather than looking at creativity at individual levels). Managers are advised to utilize Kirton’s Adaptor-Innovator Inventory (KAI) to help the team members realize their creativity style, understand differences in creativity tendencies of each other and thus create more collaborative and cohesive teams. KAI assessment tool states that any individual’s cognitive style can be placed on a continuum ranging from adaptive to innovative style. The inventory consists of 32 question statements which are based on three factors – Efficiency (E), Rule/Group Conformity (R/C) and Originality (O).

I feel that one of my most important tasks as a play therapist (and a mom) is to help children understand, cope with, and express their feelings.  In my 13 years of working therapeutically with children I have come across a myriad of playful ways to discuss emotions with kids.  Many I have learned about in workshops, trainings, courses, and books.  This post is dedicated to sharing those ideas with you.
