THINKing » Rearrange It For Creativity

THINKing » Rearrange It For Creativity | Serious Play | Scoop.it

When it comes down to it, creativity is really about rearranging what we know to form something we didn't know. You can rearrange letters or words to spark a new thought. For instance instead of saying how can we sell more bottles, you might ask how can we bottle more sales. Does this make you look at the problem a little differently?

Ariana Amorim's insight:

Recap for encouraging reflection on learning

Recap for encouraging reflection on learning | Serious Play | Scoop.it

One of the true keys to learning and developing any ability is the willingness and capacity to reflect on what we have learned.

Recap is a cross platform app that allows teachers to create classes and manage students and set them reflection questions that they can respond to using video on their laptop webcam or smart phone from their own home.

Oskar Almazan's curator insight, May 19, 12:30 PM
we’ve heard from many teachers that Book Creator is a great app for ‘app smashing’. Because you can pull in content from other apps so easily, it’s often the last step in the workflow – where students collate all their content from other apps into one place, to showcase their work. So we thought we’d delve a little deeper to find out which apps were the top choice at the moment when it comes to working with Book Creator. We asked our Book Creator Ambassadors to give us their top 5 choices for apps they love to use in conjunction with Book Creator. We then rated their choices (5 points for no.1, 4 points for no.2 etc.) and came up with the list below. These 11 were the only apps that scored double figures. Do you agree with the list?

10 Awesome Places to Find Background Music for Video

10 Awesome Places to Find Background Music for Video | Serious Play | Scoop.it

Video content has exploded in popularity, and it’s no wonder. Consumers find video engaging, compelling and convincing — so much so that they’re anywhere from 64% to 85% more likely to buy after viewing a video.

There’s a lot to think about, from actually shooting the video to post production, finding copyright free music and more. Equipment quality, lighting expertise, editing skill and audio optimization still matter a great deal (more than ever, in fact).

So while the barriers to entry for video creation have been reduced, the barriers to creating exceptional video have actually skyrocketed.

In this column, we’re going to explore some really useful places to find one element that can make your marketing and product videos way more professional and polished: background music....

Storytelling performance indicators | Two feedback questions that help us realize what we can improve on

Storytelling performance indicators | Two feedback questions that help us realize what we can improve on | Serious Play | Scoop.it
I’ve been trying various feedback eliciting techniques for years. What I’ve been looking for lately are simple feedback questions, suitable for beginners. I’m trying to help develop critical evaluation skills. After some experimentation, I find the next two questions effective in revealing storytelling performance indicators:

Do you feel the storyteller has a good grip on the steering wheel? Is she or he navigating the storytelling event ship or not?

Whatever the answer, what is doing that in your opinion?
