Not getting responses to your survey questions? Think mobile!

Not getting responses to your survey questions? Think mobile! | SEO, Web Development & Design | Scoop.it

Recently I conducted an annual survey for one of my clients. Overall I was very pleased with the results of the survey with almost a 50% participation rate. One interesting statistic from 2013 is that 40% of the participants used a mobile device to complete the survey. Where as in 2012, only 22% of the participants used a mobile device.

Again this goes to show how businesses need to think mobile in their marketing, content and customer support efforts.

Google Hummingbird Confirms What We’ve Said All Along! - Business 2 Community | SEO, Web Development & Design | Scoop.it

Increasingly, it relies more on social signals, link signals, etc to determine what people want. If you publish an article or post a video and it gets a ton of shares, likes, plusses, votes, whatever, Google sees this as a validation of the content’s worth.

5 New Realities of SEO

5 New Realities of SEO | SEO, Web Development & Design | Scoop.it

To improve accuracy Google and Bing are attempting to understand what was actually meant by a search and refining results based on semantics.

What this means for website owners is they can no longer count on writing content about a subject, optimizing it and going to work on links to the page. Sure, that stuff will always play a role, but there are other significant factors at play today.

Le SEO ce monde nouveau !

Simon Steed's curator insight, October 15, 2013 5:43 PM

A really good insight into the complexities with SEO consultancy and how to understand what you need to concentrate upon to get the most out of any SEO work you undertake.

SaiSrinivasCom's curator insight, October 25, 2013 1:02 PM

Should you really care about SEO any longer? A lot of emphasis is being laid on Social signals and perhaps in a way "drum beat your presence". If linking was a bane to get ranked previously, how is it very different from "drum beating your social presence"?
