For the past couple weeks, a select gathering of us (likely including many Search Engine Watch readers) have been playing with Google+. It's an interesting social media experiment by Google, but it is likely to remain that. Another "almost ran" in the social media game; another Google property that just won't quite make it. Here are five reasons why.
After many months following the blog and video posts of Google's Search Quality Group big cheese "Matt Cutts" I have been making notes and decided to write down some of his confirmed statements related to SEO and Google rankings.
Google Analytics can be an online marketer’s most powerful tool for gathering a wealth of information about a website and its users. However, there are two common problems that occur when using Google Analytics to mine search data. First, mining for causative and actionable data can sometimes be very unproductive. This is referred to as “analysis paralysis,” and has been known to affect online marketers of any skill level. Secondly, commanding Google Analytics’ interface to pull custom search data can be very time-consuming.
FRIDAY FUN TIME! High Noon app for iPhone: This is one of my favorite iPhone apps (not good for iPad play) If you want to shoot at me (or maybe I want o shoot you, download and play this old west shooting game. My handle is Cowgirl Burnsie
High Noon is set in the old wild west, where laws are mere suggestions and everyone seems to have a bounty on their head. The goal of the game is to challenge these outlawed men to a duel in order to collect their bounties. Earn enough gold and you can start shopping in the different stores available in town, ranging from the general store to the Indian trading post to the gun shop. This allows you to customize your character and upgrade your weapons as you go after the worst of the worst.
Happy Latte seems to have designed High Noon based on the shooting galleries at carnivals. Your opponents flip and turn like cardboard cut outs rather than like real people, and the music and dialogue is just as cheesy and amusing. But just like those shooting galleries at the carnival, aiming and shooting your gun can be a bit of a challenge when you’re required to actually move your body while playing the game. This was a rather interesting experience for me since it was the first time I’ve had to do such a thing. But once I caught on how to aim and shoot, High Noon became very fun. There is a vicious joy in challenging real people to a gun fight–even if it’s only a game.

Before we hop into possible examples of what this can look like, let’s explore “closing the loop” in greater detail.
