12 Essential Elements of a Social Media Marketing Strategy | SEO Tips, Advice, Help | Scoop.it

If you want to attract and engage social-media fans and followers — and convert them into paying customers — you need to map out a clear, goal-oriented social media plan

Bonnie Burns's insight:

You know that others have been successful at social media marketing, but there are so many moving parts that creating a plan of your own can be daunting. If you are brand new to social media and looking for a straightforward way to start, follow the advice here

Shaquille Portee's curator insight, October 20, 2:09 PM

I found this article to be extremely informative when it comes to attracting paying customers through social media platforms. Most, if not all, companies use some sort of social media outlet to connect with their target consumer. But very few do it effectively. The first step mentioned in this article is basic; do your research. Know your targets interests and values so you know how to connect with them. Another step I found interesting is planning out what you are going to post. The average twitter, facebook, and instagram user usually doesn't plan what they plan to post. They usually do it on impulse. The same can't be done for an organization. You have to treat these sites almost like any other form of marketing and promotion. You wouldn't go out and shoot a commercial with out prior proper planning would you? The same goes for  these social media platforms. Assigning someone to be in charge of the social media marketing is very important. Having one to three people control what is posted promotes consistency.

Gina Tucker's curator insight, October 20, 2:14 PM

Don't treat all social channels the same. Here are some guidelines for developing the most effective sales strategy.

I especially agree with the point that brands should treat all social networks differently. Don't post the exact same content to twitter, facebook, linkedin, etc. Put some variety in your publishing and cater it to your particular audience on that social network!

2 Types of Media Your SEO Strategy Must Have

2 Types of Media Your SEO Strategy Must Have | SEO Tips, Advice, Help | Scoop.it
Any sound SEO strategy, no matter the type of business, will have two similarities. The first, visual content. The second, video content. Everybody knows about social media and SEO but what most don’t realize is what’s actually needed in order to make your SEO strategy work. These two types of media are among those considered most vital and can be found in the elite SEO strategies today.
Bonnie Burns's insight:

The average person just isn’t going to want to read a lengthy article. Often, marketers enhance their blog posts with a few images that were easily found, but that’s ultimately missing the point. To achieve the highest level of success, you have to think beyond a pretty image of a happy person or a quick video of a cute cat. You have to look at visual and video content through the scope of SEO.

Ever wonder what malware actually looks like as it runs undetected on users’ machines? The fraud detection service, Forensig, isolated a malicious bot and then infected a virtual computer to see how much digital ad fraud really occurs when a computer is infected — and recorded it happening in a new video

Bonnie Burns's insight:

This particular malware was designed to reset itself every five minutes to simulate a new user. It also turned off and on at random times to appear more human-like. While some malware can block detection tools and hide their tracks, this malware didn’t have that capability, but it could suppress warning messages from websites allowing it to remain running in the background.
