Bonnie Burns's insight:
Google+ allows you to link to all of your social media profiles, sites and Blogs in a neat, organized manner. You can also link to any sites that you regularly contribute to. All of these links are followed links AND you get to select the anchor text (in your bio).

Tip: The more people share your posts, +1 your posts or link to your profile, the more valuable these links become to you. The takeaway here is that you need to network and build connections that will help spread your content.

It’s official: Hashtags -- long a staple of Twitter, as well as Facebook-owned photo-sharing network Instagram -- became clickable on Facebook Wednesday.
Bonnie Burns's insight:

Starting Wednesday, hashtags on Facebook will be clickable — much like those on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, and Pinterest — and clicking on them will bring users to feeds of related posts by other users and pages. Users will be able to search for hashtags via Facebook’s search bar, click on hashtags that were shared from other sources, and compose their own posts directly via hashtag feeds and search results.

It seems we're finally starting to see more of what many have suspected: that others can indeed affect your rankings with bad links – otherwise known as negative SEO. And this time it's going to be damned hard to get the worms back into the can!

Over the years Google has always stated that what others did, in particular, with bad links, can't hurt your sites rankings. Many of us knew differently, but it was always kept somewhat behind closed doors. It wasn't written about nor openly discussed. Discretion being the better part of valor and all that.

The Periodic Table Of SEO Success Factors

The Periodic Table Of SEO Success Factors | SEO Tips, Advice, Help | Scoop.it
The Periodic Table Of SEO Success Factors Search engine optimization — SEO — may seem like alchemy to the uninitiated. But there is a science to it.
Bonnie Burns's insight:

Search engines reward pages with the right combination of ranking factors, or “signals.” SEO is about ensuring your content generates the right type of signals. Our chart below summarizes the major factors to focus on for search engine ranking success

Factores SEO

Justin Bruce's curator insight, June 10, 8:39 PM

Looking for a current SEO check list? This is pretty good espcially if you like infographics.

It just goes to show how important your SEO agency is and how many factors influence the results.

It's not really something you can game (anymore) cause if you do its only a matter of time before the next google update gets you. And as we sadly know, once you are google smacked you stay down for the count!

The lesson we learnt is you must clean up the damage any non-kosher incumbant agency did behind the scenes before you progress. Some of their dodgy stuff could haunt you for ever. So use this checklist to make sure all that was done before is ok and set you up for future activities.

On a brighter note, google updates are designed to level the playing field and you can trust google will work to deliver the best results to the end user, so just go out there and be the best result!

Keep in mind google will also encourage you to spend on adwords and not rely only on SEO so they too can make some well-needed coin. Working out teh balance between the two is getting harder with more and more analytics info hidden "(not provided)". This means you dont really know whats going on so you have to balance your allocation of reswources to SEO, Social and Adwords to get a well rounded and competitive digital campaign.

How To Make The Most Of The Google+ Design Changes

How To Make The Most Of The Google+ Design Changes | SEO Tips, Advice, Help | Scoop.it
Google announced at Google I/O this month that it’s introducing a number of changes to Google+, which mainly affect the site design as well as usability.
Bonnie Burns's insight:

The two most noticeable changes were probably the cover photo for pages and profiles, which has been enlarged greatly, and the redesigned gchat, which Google has rebranded as Google Hangout (to tie in with the existing Google Hangout video chat).

The revised chat layout, which feels a lot more modern than the existing gchat, is also now being slowly rolled out for users to use in Gmail. User profiles in Google Hangout directly link to their Google+ profiles, showing that Google is now, more than ever, invested in creating a cross-promotional platform for all their product offerings.
