You can read through the bulk of what there is to know about getting rich snippets, optimizing for YouTube, and driving links back to your site within a couple of hours.

While advice on these tactics will adjust and evolve as new technologies and iterations of the algorithm are released, there is an evergreen side to video marketing; one that both SEOs and creative marketers consistently fail to comprehend.

For those of us more relational than techy, the new SEO is more flavorable. Being relational is the best way to retain old clients and at the same time attract new ones. And by creating more user relevant content the you stand a better chance of connecting with the right prospects.

Writing Your Way to the Top of Search and Social Results

Writing Your Way to the Top of Search and Social Results | SEO and Social Media Marketing | Scoop.it

Optimization and writing go together like peanut butter and jelly. If you think about it, it should be easier to teach experienced writers how to optimize than to teach technical SEO programmers how to write.

Make it a best practice to invest in educating writers, content creators, and even your public relations team with basic SEO training.

This can turn your quality content into search- and social-friendly content that can be better found in search, whether that searcher is performing a Google search or a Twitter search.

At the small to medium businesses (SMB) level, companies that outsource these functions may find it challenging to achieve complete alignment if they are dealing with separate vendors. I wanted to share some ideas and suggestions that hopefully can help your organization align these two functions.

Social Media Optimisation: What You Need To Know

Social Media Optimisation: What You Need To Know | SEO and Social Media Marketing | Scoop.it

What exactly is SMO? According to Wikipedia: "Social Media Optimisation (SMO) is the use of a number of social media outlets and communities to generate publicity to increase the awareness of a product, brand or event. In general, social media optimisation refers to optimising a website and its content in terms of sharing across social media and networking sites."

'Google has stated that their current search engine algorithm factors in 'social signals' to help it determine where a website should rank in a search result page. Social signals are social media-related recommendations, likes, tweets or social sharing that are associated with the brand's website.

Currently, the value Google associates with a particular social media platform and the type of social media activity is not measurable by us. It is safe to assume that Google+, as Google's own social media platform, is the most important in terms of generating social signals. It is also safe to assume that the social signals, which are generated by Facebook and Twitter, are both significant, due to their popularity'.

Useful article for defining the basics behind social media optimisation SMO - as this forms the foundation on understanding how to actually use social media marketing. It also discusses SEO - Search Engine Optimisation another useful tool and or concept which is used in integrated marketing and public relations campaigns. However, the main point outlined in the article was that websites needs to have/provide easier access to links to their social media sites very visible (interconnectedness). This is deemed as the best way to generate SMO. Another good explantion is - "effective cohesion between a brand's content creation, publication and social media platforms."

I liked how this article discussed the issues that marketing teams face in the office. Aligning goals are always a difficult thing to coordinate between conflicting team members. Sourcing team members to align their perception is able to be done through effective incentives and team building activities. Discussing the issues and conflicts can generate both new perspectives and goals that can change and improve a campaign. It is desirable for managers to maintain constant communication in order to keep goals and expectations up to date to avoid conflicting members and perspectives. Unifying the team is always hard, but it is something crucial to being an effective marketing manager.

Keyword Monitoring: 5 Good Reasons to Monitor Your Google Rankings

Keyword Monitoring: 5 Good Reasons to Monitor Your Google Rankings | SEO and Social Media Marketing | Scoop.it

Monitoring Google Rankings is a major part of successful and sustainable SEO. Engaging, high-quality content, attractive social media profiles, an efficient Marketing CRM – all these are important.

And yet, at the end of the day, they serve the purpose of boosting your Google Rankings and increase your visibility!

Keyword monitoring is the best method to track which online marketing strategies work, by measuring the successes of your link building, content marketing and Online PR.

In order to make SEO most effective, it is important to keep informed of your Google rankings and the current and long-lasting trends. That way, you can individually adjust your methods and not waste time on workflows and campaigns that do not bring in the desired results.

To that end, it makes sense to monitor your rankings and deduce the necessary steps. By knowing precisely which SEO methods improved your rankings within the last 7 days (or 30 days, 180 days, etc.) you can match the ranking success to the respective strategy and are able to react to ranking changes.

This article talks about a new search engine like Google but for social media. The name of the site is “Talkwalker,” and it provides companies’ full insight of where their company stands so they can be able to handle their social media platforms properly.

You can see in what platform you have more engagement, and then see your top active users in each of the platforms. This is great because you can see who your most engaged consumers are, and what they are saying about your brand. It also gives companies the chance to have a “conversation” with their customer and respond to their tweets/fb posts. The biggest perk of Talkwalker is that it is completely free, unlike other sites that do a similar thing and you have to pay a lot of money.

This search engine me reminded me of a simple Google Analytics. The benefit of this one is that it gives the person searching an easier time searching and also an easier time understanding the information they provide you. I think that sites like this are continuously being developed and improved, and will continue to grow and impress consumers in the near future.

Ahmed Alkandari's curator insight, September 14, 7:06 PM

Over the years, SEO has been developing to build relationships and creating quality content. SEO and SMM work hand in hand to improve the online Marketing for a website.

Social media contributes to SEO in different indirect roles:

-Identify groups in your Niche: you can use social media to join groups relevant to your niche. You can exchange information with the group and open discussions that will add value to the topic.

-Brand based search results: business profiles on social media are on of the best and easiest ways to update information about the company and to keep the people up to date on whats new and make it easy for them to search for what they need using social media.

-Build relationships with content publishers: Social media opens up a great opportunity for businesses to easily build relationships with online marketers. Social media can influence the success of an SEO campaign. Therefore, marketers should come up with strategies on how to benefit from social media and get the exposure they need from audiences that are relevant to their niche.

In order for marketing campaign to be effective and success, both social media marketing and SEO campaign should be presented. Social media tools can updates posts and monitor user engagement to get feedback and informations. Selecting social media tools depends on what your business requires.

For most marketing campaigns nowadays in order to be effective, social media need to be involved. Social media tools are the best way to reach marketers, customers and any groups that is related to your niche where you can share discussions and add values to the topic. With SEO evolution and developing, social media is the best contributes to SEO success. Social media helped in building relationships, it also helped in joining groups and exchanging ideas and discussions. Social media is also a great tool for marketers to come up with strategies and they are an easy tools to use and reach people with.

In my opinion, SEO evolution can reach success without social media, however, social media made them reach that success in a short period of time because it spread very fast.
