Whether you're a seasoned techy or terrified by Google, here are five useful educational tools to help students learn and teachers manage their workload
Heather Tognarina's insight:

English classrooms now a days are becoming more modernized and are integrating technology into their corriculum, some of the effective sites and things usable in technology are such. Google drive: Google drive is similar to word powerpoint and excel, you can access it from any computer or ipad just by logging into your email. Google drive allows students to share their work with friends teachers, and even work together with a student on a project at the same time. Teachers can help the students by highlighting in their drive or leaving creative comments on their work.

Edmodo: Edmodo is similar to facebook except for the fact that is education based through students and teachers. Edmodo allows students to interact with other kids and the teacher of the class has complete control over the page, students can store their work on edmodo and even access activities that the teacher assigned.

Screen Casting: Screen casting allows you to find an image, a website, or anything on the web or ipad, take a screen shot and dub your voice over onto it. Its a good teaching method, students can make informational and more in depth presentations and teachers can make informal videos.

Youtube: Youtube is a great way for kids to find informational videos on topics and also it is very easy to use for anyone. You can create channels playlists and tracks to play multiple educational videos and such.

Blogging: Blogging is a way for kids to express their opinion on a topic, the kids can easily write a paper through a blog, or do an assignment on purely a blog.

10 Teaching with Technology Mistakes You Want to Avoid Making | Senior Research Project Aspect 1- Technology In the Classroom | Scoop.it
Knowing About These can Help you Avoid Them in Your Approach to Integrating Technology in the Classroom Are you tentative about how to go about integrating
Heather Tognarina's insight:

When using technology in the classroom make sure that you as a teacher know how to use the piece of technology that you assigned, so that if kids dont understand or have a question you can answer it simply. Before assigning a site or app make sure you check and make sure the content is safe, you never know what you will find on the internet and its definitly not a good thing to be showing young kids sexual content or drug use. Make sure the technology you have your class use, has to do with the lesson. When assigning a lesson online or interactively, find out if their is any students who dont have access at home, if they dont then you can always just make it an in class activity for that student or work around that with all the students. Avoid accounts and passwords for younger kids especially.

Technology integration is very often looked at wrong, its not how to improve a classroom, its how to make a classroom more effective by means of what you couldnt do before. Apps, tools, twitter, skype, or blogging are all good interactive ways to integrate technology into your classroom. With technology comes malfunctions and problems, not all technology works all the time so it is always good to have a backup plan on your lesson incase your technology fails, this comes with regular teaching to, anything in a classroom setting can possibly go wrong. When using technology in a class for the first time, dont overdue it and use several apps or social medias at once, take your time and start with something basic.

Technology in school is becoming more and more integrated, podcasts are getting rid of homework, and social networking is becoming more and more integrated for technology. Australia tested this by having a group of kids use itunes in their lessons, for homework and other such activities.

The use of new smart boards has also been integrated in the way that kids dont use chalkboards anymore and only use the smart boards that have them interact and not just listen or look.

Another way they are integrating technology is video calls with teachers or principles, or possibly an interview with an outter source that can help kids to learn.
