Is the Paleo Diet Right for You? | Junior PE | Scoop.it

The most fundamental principle of the Paleo diet is returning to foods that more closely resemble those of our hunter-gatherer ancestors. This means organically grown vegetables, roots, nuts and seeds, fruit in moderation, and meats, fish and poultry. We should also be consuming naturally fermented foods, as the gut microflora so critical to our immune function has taken heavy losses from its assault by the Western diet.

The Paleo diet is naturally low in carbohydrates, especially carbs from sugars and starches. And this is quite beneficial for your health—actually necessary if you wish to restart your fat-burning engine, which for most of us has become quite sluggish from today's constant carbohydrate infusion.

We are always looking for the "healthiest sugar" which quite likely may be an oxymoron! Currently, we take 1tsp of Manuka Honey Active 20+ daily, raw honey in tea, coconut sugar in coffee and maple syrup and cane sugar for cooking.

What Does Critical Thinking Mean in Education ?

What Does Critical Thinking Mean in Education ? | Junior PE | Scoop.it
Critical thinking is an important skill in the 21st century learning. Education's overall goal is to produce students that will be able to think critically and not just take in things like a parrot. Of course there is a bunch of other important skills out there but this particular one stands out from the crowd. The thing about ttis skill is that while almost all teachers agree upon its priority in education only few really know what it really means
