I offer myself to Thee to build with me and to do with me as Thou wilt. Relieve me of the bondage of self, that I may better do Thy will. Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy power, Thy love, and Thy way of life. (on vellum)
May I do Thy will always! (on vellum) 3rd Step Prayer (Twelve & Twelve)
To laugh is to risk appearing a fool. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach out for another is to risk involvement. To place your dreams before the crowd is to risk ridicule. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To go forward in the face of overwhelming odds is to risk failure.
But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. One may avoid suffering and sorrow, but they cannot learn, feel, change, grow or love. Chained by ones certitudes they are a slave; One has forfeited their freedom. Only a person who takes risks is free.
