Bijay Biswaal is an accomplished self-taught artist from Orissa, India. And he has a day-job working for Indian Railways in the fast-growing metropolis of central India, Nagpur.

Bijay Biswaal is an engineer for a central India train station by day, but his passion for painting and drawing in a wide variety of media is starting to get him recognized the world over with exhibits such as the following: Collections in Mumbai, Chicago, Bhubaneswar, Nagpur narrow gauge rail museum.

 Monica Zúñiga is a self-taught artist living and working in Mexico City. She teachers art classes to people who also just want to learn more about making art and sharing some of their own artfoms, such as music and dance. Monica's sketchbooks are incredible!

As a kid, I never traveled anywhere. My parents would go away sometimes, but they never took me along. I was only on a plane once before the age of 20. I was sent alone to Florida one summer to visit my grandparents for a week.

David J. Carol was inspired by a road trip as a young man to become a photographer, travel "every backroad", and never have to come home again. His work is intimate, narrative, and candid.

  Five Wisconsin self-taught artists unite for a showing of their work. One of these artists is Roger Koenke. He had been a vocational rehabilitation supervisor until retiring in 1999. He finally had the time and courage to make a studio in the basement, where he creates delicate wood sculptures full of movement with architectural and organic elements. Another artist represented there is Romano Johnson, a 35-year-old African-American artist who was born with a cognitive disability. He began painting as a boy in Chicago and has continued to challenge himself. He creates bold graphic acrylic paintings with figural themes.

Dinh Thong is a Vietnamese artisan who creates unique feather paintings. he sketches the details of his artworks on paper, then glues hundreds of chicken feathers over it to create unique works of art.
Emily Majeski's insight:

Dinh Thong creates beautiful "paintings" typically represent traditional themes and are made from a variety of chicken feathers. The feathers are applied to the canvas, to create a painterly, almost impressionistic feel. Due to many set-backs, including lack of financial support and the bird flu epidemic, he has seen hardships, but perseveres for his love of this medium.

Chris Stucco "White Paintings" and "Nu Era" works. Stucco is not bound by four corners, he woks in several different platforms, using a wide variety of media for each mini collection he creates, including powder-coated metal sculpture.

I was missing the earth so much that I watched a 98 minute movie of the light changing from day to night high up in the Sierra Nevadas. The trees are beautiful in the way trees are, but not too showy.

James Benning's "Nightfall" is a video of the trees in a forest. While his subject remains still, it is the changing light and the noises of the forest that challenge his reality.
