7 Characteristics Associated With Long Life (And How To Cultivate Them)

7 Characteristics Associated With Long Life (And How To Cultivate Them) | Self-exploring | Scoop.it

As much as we focus on food and fitness as the "physical" arbiters of health and longevity, there appears to be much more to it. In fact, most research fails to find any grand commonalities in the diet and fitness patterns of the longest lived. From Okinawans with their sweet potatoes to Japanese centenarians with their dairy to the Ashkenazi with their higher rates of smoking, drinking, and lower rates of formal exercise to the 107-year-old with her butter, no exercise, and mistrust of medicinem to the supercentenarians with their liver, bacon, wine, chocolate, and eggs, to the other supercentenarians with their caloric restriction. 35 Great iPad Apps for Work - Mac|Life

35 Great iPad Apps for Work - Mac|Life | Self-exploring | Scoop.it

"It’s easy to forget the iPad’s been around for only three years, since it’s made such a big footprint in our day-to-day lives. It’s great for lean-back, leisurely weekend activities like watching a movie, video chatting with faraway relatives, and playing a few rounds of Words with Friends. But don’t leave it behind when it’s time to return to the salt mines Monday morning — turns out, the iPad works at the office almost as hard as you do. "
