Brianna Moore's curator insight,

I really like this article. It talks about how we can't stop or prevent mass shootings and murders, and no law can either. But we can "excersice" the power of our 2nd ammendment rights and start carrying concealed weapons. The article says "Allow and encourage people to carry concealed. It will create a self-defense mentality and will make criminals think twice about shooting up a movie theater." No, I do not think this will stop all shootings, but it's worth a try.

I totally agree with Bri. Shootings and violence are going to happen. However, we can cut down on them by having conceal and carry laws. I feel this will be more effective than limiting guns because it will allow for self-defense. If you ban guns, people will still find a way to get them. Like drugs, for example, most are illegal but drug use is not uncommon because if you want something bad enough you will find a way to get it. So, if people are properly trained for self-defense with guns, it will make those who want to create violence think twice because they will know there may in turn be violence toward them. And just like Bri said it won't stop all the shootings, but its worth a try because if it limits the amount of shootings, it a step in the right direction.

I feel like that we should keep our conceal laws but they should be monitered by people who take the classes and have no weapon abuse background. They also can make any law they want to ban guns but can't stop people from getting guns. Delete the scoop?

I'm not really on board with the whole gun carrying thing, for college anyway. These colleges are supposed to have their own security force to maximize the campus safety. I would rely on those guys instead of my students to keep my college safe.

I think that having guns on campus is a bad thing. I don't think that students should be allowed to carry them with them. I think that only the security officers or the actual officers should be able to have them.

This should not be allowed at all on any college campus. college kids are known for doing stupid things in the first place, let alone with guns. All it takes is one drunk kid to accidentally fire his gun and make another national headline for school shootings.

This articles talking about the good and bad of the ATT. sr people say that it's good and will prevent violence and danger from happening. Others say that it's taking away people rights and protection. I personally think that guns shouldn't be banned people are going to find a way to cause harm one way or another.

I agree with you totally Sammy. its part of the constitution that we have the right to bare arms and they will never be able to do it.

Although I see where it is not right to ban guns, I do believe we need to control. I think Obama is taking a great initiative. Obviously our country has faced terrible events, and we need to find a way to fix it. There should be some restrictions on guns, but not a lot of restriction.
