Is Facebook Working on Its Own RSS Reader?

Is Facebook Working on Its Own RSS Reader? | Search Engine Marketing Trends | Scoop.it

With Google Reader closing up shop on July 1, devoted users are still scrounging around for an RSS feed replacement. Could Facebook create the next big place to stay updated on news across the Internet?

According to Tom Waddington, a web developer for the site Cut Out + Keep, a new code on Facebook hints that Facebook may launch RSS feeds for users in the future.

A RSS feed would allow users to subscribe to and pull in online content from news organizations, blogs and videos to keep up with news.

Could Facebook Make Waves With Waze?

Could Facebook Make Waves With Waze? | Search Engine Marketing Trends | Scoop.it

Facebook has made quite the flurry of acquisitions lately. Last week, the social network acquired Threadsy. The word on Wednesday is that Facebook could consider purchasing Waze, developer of a well-liked, free, community-based traffic-nav app. Waze has nearly 6,200 users talking about it and the app has garnered 126,000 likes.

The rumors of the possible acquisition were first reported by Israeli financial daily newspaper Globes, then followed by Forbes and BGR. Reports claim that there was a recent tête-à-tête between big-wig execs at Facebook and the like from Waze.

This would be the third Facebook acquisition in Israael, after Face.com, which the site acquired in June for $60 million and Snaptu, which the social network bought in March 2011 for roughly $70 million.

While the real agenda for the get-together has not been confirmed, it is speculated that Facebook may be considering a possible collaboration with or acquisition of Waze, which has an office in Facebook’s former stomping grounds of Palo Alto, Calif.

Waze, founded in March 2008, recently partnered with Apple to provide a traffic app for the new GPS system for its next smartphone.

Gaia, Woobox works only on your FB Pages, NOT on your FB profile. That's the reason why you can't get it to do what you want. It doesn't do that. :-)

Facebook Appears Clueless As To What Android Users Actually Want

Facebook Appears Clueless As To What Android Users Actually Want | Search Engine Marketing Trends | Scoop.it

If a company just entered the Fortune 500 for the first time which makes it one of the largest (and almost automatically, well respected) companies in America it might be reasonable to think that there is some decent thinking going on there, right?

Apparently at Facebook that might be asking too much. Now, to be fair, it’s not like the company is completely in the dark. It’s done a great job getting to where it is today. The trouble for the company, and for those investing in the company, is that it is making some bold statements about its future being in mobile. As a result, you get Facebook Home for Android which is supposed to take the Facebook experience to a new level and practically immerse the user in a Facebook driven world.
