This article allows any teacher to see what tips and ideas they can use with smartphones within their classroom. This is leaning more towards middle school and high school, due to the students in elementary not having phones.

Using Technology Vs Technology Integration- An Excellent Chart for Teachers ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning

Using Technology Vs Technology Integration- An Excellent Chart for Teachers ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Sd76 EdTech | Scoop.it

"Are you using or integrating technology in your teaching ? At the face of it, it seems like a game of semantics but in fact it is more than that. When we talk about technology integration in the classroom we are talking about a planned and highly structured and purposeful use of technology with students whose ultimate goal is to engage students and help them develop new thinking skills. Using technology, on the other hand, is a random and sporadic process whose main goal is to instruct students on content not to engage them with content.

The chart below ,I came across in Teachbytes , offers a more detailed explanation of the difference between Using Technology and Integrating Technology. Have a look and, as always, share with us your feedback in the comment form below. Enjoy"

Are you using technology or intergrating technology? An interesting and clearly presented comparison.

M Labelle-Fisch's curator insight, April 8, 2013 9:34 AM

Always shoot for the integration.  I ask myself at the end of each day, among other questions, "who used the tech in the classroom today?"

Dr. Peterson's curator insight, August 13, 2014 8:25 PM

This chart will help you distinguish between enhancing your class with technology versus transforming or reconceptualizing concepts with technology.
