Charity appeal for female SCUBA divers

Charity appeal for female SCUBA divers | ScubaObsessed | Scoop.it
A group of Jersey SCUBA divers are going to attempt a world record this month to raise money towards breast cancer charities.

Dozens of divers are planning on taking part, many have been affected by breast cancer either directly or in-directly. They're hoping to break the record for having the largest amount of women SCUBA diving together at the same time. There is no current record for this title.

Jersey Seasearch, a local charity that undertakes volunteer surveys of the seabed, and Bouley Bay Dive Centre have teamed up to organise the event. They're appealing for more women to come forward and take part.

It'll take place on Saturday 18th July. The women will meet at 6pm, have a briefing at 7.15 and enter the water at 7.30pm. They will follow an underwater course in pairs at a depth of five metres fo at least 20 minutes.
