Flip This Library: School Libraries Need a Revolution | Screencasting & Flipping for Online Learning | Scoop.it

Easily Create Screencast Videos With Kazam Screencaster [Linux]

Easily Create Screencast Videos With Kazam Screencaster [Linux] | Screencasting & Flipping for Online Learning | Scoop.it

Kazam Screencaster is an easily available free screencasting tool that you can use on Linux to make such videos. There are a couple of other tools out in the wild that you can use, but Kazam seems to be one of the easiest to work with. It seems that Kazam is only officially available for Ubuntu as there are PPAs for it, which is a shame, but I’m sure that someone can take the source code and compile it themselves on other distributions.

New twist in education: 'Flipped classroom' makes homework an in-school effort, puts lectures online

New twist in education: 'Flipped classroom' makes homework an in-school effort, puts lectures online | Screencasting & Flipping for Online Learning | Scoop.it

One appeal of online lectures is that students can watch them repeatedly if they are confused about a topic. Plus, once they are posted, they remain online so students can use them to review for tests. The online lectures also make lessons portable, with students being able to watch them anywhere from their smartphones or electronic tablets. They also are useful for students who miss class due to illness or school or athletic activities.
