A Q&A with Sabrina Caluori about HBO Connect: the network’s ‘digital marketing secret weapon’
Mattia Nicoletti's insight:

"The most important feature we’ve built into this release is flexibility. There are no “one size fits all” social media strategies – every single program is different. As such, it is important that the HBO Connect platform can adapt to meet our needs as marketers across every programming type – drama, comedy, sports and documentaries. The platform leverages “best in class” technology partners such as Mass Relevance and Storify to provide us with tools we need to keep the site fresh on an on-going basis."

MediaPost Publications The Real Benefit Of The Second Screen 10/30/2013

The Real Benefit Of The Second Screen - 10/30/2013
Mattia Nicoletti's insight:

One of the most important element of a change is the ability to get used to it. In the last 15 years we are get used to a lot of things because technology changed the way we communicate, we listen, we watch. If we think at the early days of Twitter and Facebook we have to admit thta just very few people could have imagined that in 5-6 years the most of the world  would communicate through social networks. As a consequence even the advertising world has changed very much and today the ad strategy is to reach the target delivering promotional contents he is interested in (advertising as a value)

Second screen advertising can be a solution for investors but now it is hard to predict if people would accept as a matter of fact advertising on the second screen when they watch television especially if what they are doing on the second screen it is not related to what they watch on tv.

We are at second screen early stages and I believe that when second screen contents will improve the entertainment of just watching a tv show (it's the case of X-Factor) then promotional content will find their place.
