Producers Guild conference concludes, "There's never been more opportunity, and it's never been harder to get the right deal"
Mattia Nicoletti's insight:

Contents rule. More than ever.

And maybe this time US has to think about a global audience that is more than ever interested in great video contents.

“At the end of the day, there may be 300 outlets where they used to be 10,” she said. “Everybody's getting a smaller piece of the pie, and the money seems to be shrinking as a result, but the consumer wants something that looks as good as ever.

“So you're making shows that are for a 50th of the audience you used to get, but you can't do it for a 50th of the effort or budget. It has to look as good as it ever did.”

TV Everywhere: Is Traditional TV Becoming Obsolete?

“TV is TV,” Brian Dutt, chief of advisory services for FreeWheel told Lost Remote, adding that people are going to watch shows like “Scandal” and live sporting events wherever they are, “regardless of the pipe that’s carrying a show to you.”

Even though TV will still be a force, Dutt predicts traditional TV will start borrowing from its digital TV counterpart.

Mobile Devices to Play a Support Role for Millennial World Cup Fans in the UK

Mobile Devices to Play a Support Role for Millennial World Cup Fans in the UK | screen seriality | Scoop.it
The World Cup in Brazil is facing numerous infrastructure issues on the eve of the event. But while mobile service provision in the various stadia is likely to curtail much mobile activity, closer to home, mobile devices are set to play a prominent role for UK consumers following the action, especially millennials.
Mattia Nicoletti's insight:

The 2014 Fifa World Cup will be an historical moment for mobile, social tv and second screen because more than the Olympics will involve deeply a lot of European countries and supporters of any age.

It will be really a challenge and a way for tv networks to understand how monetization can "affect" the future of television.

It' has been more than two years that I try to explain advertisers that pre-roll commercial don't work if are the same used on tv. Different media need different contents and different messages (consistent with the original one). But, actually... no way!
