Social Networks Are The Next Big Mobile Advertising Platform (Mobile Marketing Watch)
Social media advertising has grown thanks to customized ad units on Facebook and Twitter, writes Eric Mugnier, of M&C Saatchi Mobile. Facebook has definitely shown its potential, although largely with direct response app acquisition campaigns. This success is largely due to the quality of data that Facebook provides, which helps fine-tune targeting and ensure relevance and downloads. This is also due to new ad units rolled out over the last few months that allow users to install advertised apps without leaving Facebook. But Facebook and Twitter also need to prove their ad products can do more than just drive short-term spikes in consumer engagement.

Ad buyers say that TV viewership has also fragmented out to more places like web and mobile, though TV remains a necessary component for many advertisers."

" Research by Boff & Lincoln shows that visual acuity decreases as viewing distance increases – so for close viewing distances a user’s awareness and judgment is at its maximum. While science has just begun to broach the subject of visual acuity and its correlation with mental cognition, it can be inferred that better acuity will equal clearer cognitive consumption of media. This of course makes a great scientific case for mobile video advertising and for those who say (screen) size matters."


With broadband and retina resolution, mobile video experience can be even more compelling than the one at home. Is the physical perception of the screen size that make us believe that is not so.
