A tracking shot is when a camera follows a person or an object physicallyy moving with the subject- This can be done using tracks, handheld, ropes, Steady-cam etc. Long tracking shots impress me a lot as it takes a lot of planning and rehearsals to get it just right but if you do it can be the most immersive way to tell a story in my opinion as there are no cuts to divert your attention. There have been some absolute awesome tracking shots and we couldn’t get them all in but here are some of my favourite ones. 
While a small town like Red Hook may not seem like a literary hotbed, the first Read Local Red Hook Literary Festival proved otherwise. The event was held April 14 at the Red Hook Village Building, co-sponsored by the Red Hook Community Arts Network and Rhinebeck’s Oblong Books and Music. Isn’t it funny how the court jester has become the superhero of the entertainment world. Yes, the comedian, the funny man, has surpassed the movie star or rock musician in the popularity league. Film editing is an art therefore you can never fully master your skills. Here are a few helpful tips that can help anyone from the budding film editor to the seasoned veteran better his/her craft.

Structure is something that every agent and executive in Hollywood talks about, and that all of us teachers/authors/consultants/gurus/whatever go on and on about, to the point that it can seem complicated, intricate, mysterious and hard to master. So I want present plot structure in a way that simplifies it – that will at least give you a starting point for properly structuring your screenplay without overwhelming you with rules and details and jargon. 
I used to work with a cinematographer named Rob Draper (Halloween 5, The Spitfire Grill). He was having me practice one day by shooting a product shot for a whisky bottle. I had set the bottle up in front of a seamless backdrop and put a light in front of the bottle at about a 45 degree angle. Rob came in to see how I was doing. His first comment was “What made you put the light in front of the bottle rather than behind the bottle?”
