Up Movie Review & Film Summary (2009) | Roger Ebert

Up Movie Review & Film Summary (2009) | Roger Ebert | Scout | Scoop.it
"Up" is a wonderful film, with characters who are as believable as any characters can be who spend much of their time floating above the rain forests of Venezuela. They have tempers, problems and obsessions.
Kicre's insight:

*I think that Scout Finch would love the movie "Up". I think she would like this movie because it involves a young child who is very innocent and naive just like herself. Another main reason i think she would enjoy this movie is because it involves an big adventure, and Scout loves adventures.

Huffy Bikes: 26 Ladies Cruiser Bike, 26753" | Scout | Scoop.it
Kicre's insight:

* I think Scout would love to have a bike of her own. Whenever Scout romes the neighborhood all day i believe that it would be helpful for her to have a bike to get around on, instead of having to walk the whole time. Scout would love this bike because it could help her get to more places by herself, and she could carry things in the basket on the bike.

Judy Moody (Judy Moody, # 1) | Scout | Scoop.it
Reissued in a way-cool paperback design"Judy Moody was in a mood. Not a good mood. A bad mood. A mad-faced mood."To start, Judy Moody ...
Kicre's insight:

Judy Moody and Scout Finch are very similar. Both Judy and Scout are independent and adventureous tomboys who love to explore. They both speak up when they think something is unfair, stnad up for what they think is right, and will defend their loved ones. Both of these characters have a slightly sassy attitude which could get them into trouble, but they also learn from their mistakes. Another one of the main reasons that they are alike is because they both mature and grow up throughout the book.

Kicre's insight:

"Stop This Rain" by John Mayer represents growing up. John Mayer talks abou thow he wants the train (growing up) to slow down and stop moving. He also talks about how he is only good at being young. This represents Scout because everybody is telling her to grow up and she doesnt want to leave behind her childhood. Throughout the book, Scout matures over time and eveutually will grow up to become a young woman.

Open Thread: CS Lewis's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe has been voted the best children's book of all time. But which titles would you choose?
Kicre's insight:

This picture relates to Scout because it shows a little girl sitting on the floor reading. Although this girl does not look at all like a tomboy, it depicts Scout because spends a lot of her free time reading at home. Also, the girl is this picture looks very young, and Scout also knew how to read at a very young age aswell.

Parents and their Children: Embracing Adventure and Danger

Parents and their Children: Embracing Adventure and Danger | Scout | Scoop.it
One of the worst things that has been done to children over the past generation or two has been insulating them from anything that could possibly have any
Kicre's insight:

This article talks about how parents should let their children explore the dangers of the world before they enter the real world. Atticus raises Scout just like this atricle suggests you should. He lets Scout explore the town without holding her back on a leashe. Scout, unlike some other children these days, has the ability to expirience adventure. Although Scout may get herself into trouble, she always learns from her mistakes. This developes her street smarts. I think that the only thing that Aunt Alexandra and partlry Atticus are doing wrong the way they're pushing Scout to grow up, instread of letting her mature at her own speed.

Parenting Articles about Younger Children

Parenting Articles about Younger Children | Scout | Scoop.it
Kicre's insight:

These mini articles talk about different tips and consequences your children should receive after getting in trouble. This relates to Scout because whenever she gets in trouble or does something wrong that she may not realize, Atticus gives her the right punishement. Atticus gives her a punishement that she will always learn from. For example, when Scout got into a fight with Francis, Atticus, instead of sending Scout to her room, let her think about how what she did was wrong and felt no mercy for her. This was the right punishement and taught Scout her lesson.
