Boost Your Website Traffic with Scoop.it | Scoop.it on the Web | Scoop.it

Sharon Hurley Hall wrote another piece on Scoop.it, this time giving great tips on how to drive traffic to your Web site using Scoop.it. As she puts it: "Curating content increases your authority, but it’s also a great way to drive traffic to your site."

The tips she gives are very useful and join some other testimonials on the same topic, such as Chris' from RootWebSolutions.

Thanks for sharing these, Sharon!

Content Marketing Without the Content? | TheNextWeb

Content Marketing Without the Content? | TheNextWeb | Scoop.it on the Web | Scoop.it

Scoop.it Content Director is a suite of features to assist small-to-medium-sized businesses with both creation and curationGiven the number of companies using content as part of their marketing strategy (and the number of journalists who have jumped ship from traditional media jobs to marketing roles in recent year), Scoop.it has a big market to address here.

Guillaume Decugis's insight:

Martin Bryant reports on our latest launch on TheNextWeb.

When I pitched him first about Scoop.it back when we were still in private beta, he called it "blogging without blogging" - which does make sense and is an expression I still like to use. So when I told him over coffee in San Francisco about our coming launch of Scoop.it Content Director, he went "oh, so this time you' redoing Content Marketing without the Content!".

Not quite this time as Scoop.it Content Director also helps manage created content but a good expression nevertheless as it describes the state of most SMBs: trying to do content marketing without (much) content.

How to crack user generated content for content marketing

How to crack user generated content for content marketing | Scoop.it on the Web | Scoop.it

User generated content – it’s the holy grail of content marketing. But as many who have tried can tell you, it’s not as simple as asking your audience to “submit your favorite photos of (fill in the blank)

Guillaume Decugis's insight:

This is a review by Justin J. Ware of the success story of the University of San Francisco which has been using content curation to showcase user generated content on its website and increase engagement and traffic in a spectacular way.

We launched in March 2013 and after 9 months, we have now reached 130,000 views and 960 unique contributing sources,” said Listerman, Director of E-Communications at USF.

"We also measure (through radian6) the social media footprint in terms of social media conversations that mention the university name, and specifically conversations that include #USFCA,” said Listerman. “Compared to the same month last year, we have seen an average 168% increase in USF-relevant conversations overall and a 573% increase for the use of #USFCA.

Social content hubs are a hot topic for brands and organizations who want to engage their community and make it a conversation. But while the end result looks like a no-brainer, it's creating the virtuous cycle that's the hard part:

- encouraging users to contribute content is great but it's not enough;

- they will be discouraged if they don't see the value through top contributors being showcased;

- curation is needed to highlight the top content and create incentives for the community.

And above all, the system needs to be super simple as Justin highlights.

Dramatically Increase Your Online Visibility Through A Streamlined Content Process

Dramatically Increase Your Online Visibility Through A Streamlined Content Process | Scoop.it on the Web | Scoop.it

There are 2 primary tasks involved to dramatically increase your online visibility and brand awareness;
- Content Discovery
- Content Sharing
Using Scoop.it and Feedly will save you tons of time for finding quality content your target audience is hungry for.

Guillaume Decugis's insight:

@Neil Ferree outlines very clearly how to streamline your content publishing process to grow your visibility on social media.

Combining content discovery with optimized content sharing is very important to do that and having s streamlined process will save you a lot of time.

This is one of the reasons we've introduced automated scheduling in our latest product - Scoop.it Content Director.

Our vision?

Assessing which content deserves to be shared and annotating this content with your insight is all you should have to worry about. The rest - publishing, scheduling, re-posting multiple times to Twitter or Facebook, posting on behalf of your co-workers if they want to, collecting leads from your shared content, etc... - should be 100% automated.

What the Heck is Scoop.it?

What the Heck is Scoop.it? | Scoop.it on the Web | Scoop.it

It’s a user-friendly content curation tool with a social component, creating a one-stop environment for learning, sharing and connecting. (...)
There are many things about Scoop.it that I love. Its Pinterest-like boards provide the headline, image and the first few lines of copy, allowing for a quick scan of content. Scoop.it’s suggested content is always spot on (...) it’s easy (and the integration with other social networks is great)."

Marc Rougier's insight:

Thanks much Stacy Firth for this description of Scoop.it (and thanks for the positive comments!). Very accurate.

And yes Marketers are the number one users of Scoop.it!

As a complement, integration with Wordpress, branding (up to white lable) and analytics are probably the most popular benefits of the premium plans.

Indeed there is a social component to Scoop.it: the community of curators is leveraged to discover content and engage with like-minded people. It's secondary to the prime mission (publishing-by-curation platform), but we'll take into account the remarks about upgrading this social dimension. Noted!

PS: I like the title and the concept of this series :)
