27 Must Use SEO Tools for Incredible Content Marketing Results | Inbound & Content Marketing Hub

27 Must Use SEO Tools for Incredible Content Marketing Results | Inbound & Content Marketing Hub | Scoop.it on the Web | Scoop.it
We all want content marketing results, but they can be hard to get without the right SEO tools. Here is a list containing 27 search optimization essentials.
Guillaume Decugis's insight:

It's super cool to be on a list of SEO tools, as it's something we highly value but is sometimes overlooked as a benefit of Scoop.it.

more...
Guillaume Decugis's curator insight, June 4, 8:16 PM

SEO changed over the past few years through the Google Search algorithm updates: from being a complex, tech process involving back links and labor - and to be fair not always very "white hat" - it became synonym for "regularly publish great content".

This means that SEO tools have considerably changed and while analytics tools like Google's or Moz are still very important, they help you measure but they don't solve the main problem content marketers have: how to scale the content volume without sacrificing quality

So we're not surprised to see content-focused tools in that great list of SEO tools compiled by Writtent, a company that provide content services for B2B marketers.

What is my SEO opportunity? What are the keywords I should invest on? How do I rank against competitors? Sure, all of this is extremely important. But over analyzing is not going to help you come out with the great content you need: the pieces that answer your potential clients' questions, that will educate them or that will make them see more clearly the value of your product throughout their buyer journey.

The good news in all of this?

Acting on your SEO doesn't require complex technical work anymore. Especially with tools like these, it finally became what it should always have been: a Marketing job.

Content Marketing has grown up fast and Martin (Marty) Smith gives some great advice in this post. One of these is what he calls COPE for Create Once Publish Everywhere which I think is a great #leancontent rule:

1. Because everytime you can remix your own content, you should: this is not being boring, this is acknowledging that the world is vast and that people are busy so they might not be reading your tweet just because you shared something.

2. Content curation or creation only works if it's coupled with strong distribution.

3. SEO and social shares are tightly correlated.

How to crack user generated content for content marketing

How to crack user generated content for content marketing | Scoop.it on the Web | Scoop.it

User generated content – it’s the holy grail of content marketing. But as many who have tried can tell you, it’s not as simple as asking your audience to “submit your favorite photos of (fill in the blank)

Guillaume Decugis's insight:

This is a review by Justin J. Ware of the success story of the University of San Francisco which has been using content curation to showcase user generated content on its website and increase engagement and traffic in a spectacular way.

We launched in March 2013 and after 9 months, we have now reached 130,000 views and 960 unique contributing sources,” said Listerman, Director of E-Communications at USF.

"We also measure (through radian6) the social media footprint in terms of social media conversations that mention the university name, and specifically conversations that include #USFCA,” said Listerman. “Compared to the same month last year, we have seen an average 168% increase in USF-relevant conversations overall and a 573% increase for the use of #USFCA.

Social content hubs are a hot topic for brands and organizations who want to engage their community and make it a conversation. But while the end result looks like a no-brainer, it's creating the virtuous cycle that's the hard part:

- encouraging users to contribute content is great but it's not enough;

- they will be discouraged if they don't see the value through top contributors being showcased;

- curation is needed to highlight the top content and create incentives for the community.

And above all, the system needs to be super simple as Justin highlights.
