Les conseils de recherche du Royaume-Uni détaillent leur plan de soutien financier pour aider les chercheurs à payer les frais de publication et ainsi suivre l’obligation de publier en libre accès qui prendra effet en avril 2013.
Les fonds seront débloqués pour une période de deux ans (1er avril 2013 - 31 mars 2015). Un bilan sera établi en 2014 pour déterminer la hauteur du budget pour les années suivantes.
Les Research Councils UK comptent que 45 % des articles seront publiés selon la voie dorée la première année, puis plus de 50 % la deuxième année pour atteindre 75 % dans les cinq prochaines années, les 25 % restants étant accessibles via la voie verte.
