chloe science's insight:

The Australian Government has just granted access to hundreds of CSG wells on the liverpool planes, the liverpool planes is Australias best farming land, with rich black soil, perfect for crop to grow on and a flat landscape allowing every inch to be used to farm, it is situated just outside the town on Gunnedah and many farmers from the liverpool planes are angry about the acces as it will be destroying the water that is used for irrigation of farmers crops.  Many protests have gone on since the access to CSG on the planes, my family included, we own a farm on the liverpool planes and have owned it for over 50 years, if coal seam gas is allowed into our farm, we could lose much of our income due to contaminated water used in our irrigation, if CSG is not stopped in the liverpool planes it has a great possibility to destroy australias most precious farm land. Farmers realise that gas needs to be extracted from the ground for everyones energy hungry needs however they are addomant that they must do it somewhere other than farming land, so Coal seam gas is a must have in this world but many people agree it is not to be placed in certain places such as farming land.
