In november 2012 startte Kunst van Lezen met het vervolgtrajectvan het programma de Bibliotheek op school - voortgezet onderwijs. Het eerste resultaat van dit vervolgtraject is de inmiddels verschenen brochure Meer lezen, beter in taal - vmbo. Delete the scoop?

Ik vind het een mooie en originele actie, omdat het de betrokkenheid van ouders en kinderen bij de schoolbibliotheek vergroot en omdat de kinderen zelf boeken mogen aandragen, waaruit de nieuwe boeken gekozen worden. Delete the scoop?

Simply put, students suffer when they don’t have adequate resources—and, in particular, we’ve found that student achievement suffers when schools lack libraries that are staffed by full-time librarians. “Nearly every public school in Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties has a library with certified staff, which has been proven to increase student reading and comprehension,” notes Kintisch. “In contrast, most public schools in Philadelphia do not employ a certified librarian, and more than 140 do not have a library.” Via Dennis T OConnor

Kieth Curry Lance's decade long research studies established (beyond any doubt) that a professionally staffed library is essential for student achievement. It never hurts to be shown the obvious truth (over and over again). When will the decision makers stop the lip service and pay attention to the research? School Libraries and Librarians WORK! In deze online handleiding leggen we uit hoe je de genoemde functionaliteiten gebruikt. Daarvoor hebben we gebruik gemaakt van de ontwikkeltool (arrangeertool) van het platform, zodat je nu een voorbeeld ziet van wat je zelf kunt maken met Wikiwijs, namelijk een digitale les. In het menu links vind je onder 'Overzicht homepage' een korte beschrijving van knoppen waarmee je de belangrijkste functionaliteiten kunt vinden. Onder 'Account en profiel aanmaken' is uitgelegd wat je moet doen om toegang te krijgen tot alle functionaliteiten. En onder de verschillende deelhandleidingen vind je uitleg over het zoeken, maken en delen van leermateriaal. Delete the scoop?

Ook in 2013-2014 gaat De Weddenschap van start. De doelgroep van deze vmbo-leescampagne wordt komend jaar uitgebreid. Richtten we ons in voorgaande jaren op vmbo 3/4, in het komende schooljaar is De Weddenschap bedoeld voor leerlingen (en docenten) in alle klassen van het vmbo en mbo. Delete the scoop?
